I think the best way to describe it is to say he's similat to MP10. They're definitely not comparable to an old MP like MP01 in terms of heft, but they're nevertheless quality figures. Definitely not flimsy, and as far as I can tell, doesn't look like it would stress easily, There are definitely fewer parts chafing against each other vs MP10, so that's a plus for Sideswipe.

Star Saber, are the Amazon pile drivers just in a little baggie like that and not inside the box? Thanks.

Yet the original G1 rubber tires are still holding up fine for the most part. Go figure. They probably just used a weak mix of rubber for CR/RID.

Honestly I wouldn't know, since I didn't get the Amazon one. I don't think that one's out yet.

True, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, especially given the cost cutting measures implemented by toy companies lately. Wouldn't want to see my MPs' tires cracking while on display

Not really. This is an adult collectible through and through. The character is one that's well known from the 80s, the transformation is more complex than your average TF toy for kids, and it's priced way above their range.

You'd have to get entirely new wheels, not just tires. Are they easily removable?

The hypothetical 3rd party would actually need to produce new wheel/rim assemblies as well. So you'd have to remove the stock set entirely. And I could be wrong, but it looks like you'd have to remove them with a soldering iron since they appear to be pinned like most wheels.

While they have this license, they need to make a Sunstreaker as well. But they would have to completely re-engineer him since he has a different transformation.

I like the simplicity of the design. Would you say the torso is hollow? Or is it filled out well?

Thanks for the answer. I thought I saw an image with a coin and pile drivers, must have been someone else's.

It's a little bit hollow, the front just manages to cover it well. It's not as bad as Classic/United Jazz :p

glad to know there's a flap in his inner legs to cover up some of that hollowness - hollow areas make a figure look... lacking. would've been better if that flap extended all the way down to the ankles to fill it completely, but beggars can't be choosers.
