Fully agree with this. My MP-12 has bad painjob on the left door window. The right side is ok though.

Thankfully this part folds in to the back in bot mode and out of sight. So I'll display mine in bot mode.

Size: Aside from scale arguments, it doesn't feel too small to me.

Alt mode: I got slightly bubbly paint on the doors.

Robot mode: Feels a bit like a good quality kitbash... i just keep picking it up expecting a little more 'heft' to it.

Getting the side windows to fold properly and have the roof sit entirely flush with the strut doesn't seem possible? Don't want to force it.

Shoulders not locking as such... that one i don't think is an issuse,

It's a nice toy, but it does kind of stretch the idea of what a Masterpiece is, imo. At the price it costs, i couldn't recommend it unreservedly, or possibly even close to unreservedly.

They aren't fatal flaws, but some of the issues i've referred to a fairly significant ones all the same.

If you're one of those people who's not sure about buying it, and think Classics Sideswipe will do instead, especially at the difference in price.......you're probably right.

    Now that i have mine:

    Summary:

Nice toy, but with some fairly significant issues.

If you're one of those people going back and forth, beating yourself up as to whether you get 6-7 times the toy that Classics Sideswipe is for 6-7 times the price, you don't. Not even close. After the first transformation i shrugged and put it back in the box.

Don't buy this thing expecting to be wowed, it's just not there.... The more i think about it, the more i'm convinced that if Hasbro do release this, it may not be under the Masterpiece banner at all, but some sort of 30th anniversary line.

Takara could release a version 2 to fix the doors not being flush issue and the paint problems.

I really enjoy feeling like I got a good deal when I buy a figure. Who dosent? For me I just feel that @ $90, I'm getting ripped off here. In my mind this figure is worth $60 tops.

Most of my issues with this figure have already been discussed. Firstly the headsculpt is most definitely 'off'. It's so close, yet so far away. The most disappointing things for me however all involve the alt mode. No rubber tires or opening doors is damn near a deal breaker for me. Seiriously a Lambo without butterfly doors?? Huh?

I see you guys have made a lot of excuses in order to justify or reconcile yourselves to these shortcomings, and I am trying to do the same but it's so hard. Half the door ends up intact on his back. Just seems like they could have tried a little harder to get this major detail into the figure. Secondly the plastic tires...ugh. Like many of you I have toys with rubber tires dating back 20+ years and they're fine. Theyre more likely to be lost than crack. Also a lot of people's problems with the rubber is likely due to childhood abuse. Finally..the rear end kibble is ugly and the air intakes that don't actually have any indents just kill me.

I know I don't HAVE to buy this figure. Could always wait for the cheaper hasbro version too. Despite all my gripes with this figure, I still want it..
I have the opportunity to get this figure tomorrow and Im having the most difficult time justifying this purchase without feeling like I overpaid.

Um,i know that. I was just making a point that MP Seekers still manage to feel like Masterpiece regardless of size etc.

People wanna gripe out the scale, what about MP Grimlock? Last time I checked his bot mode is way too small but people love him.

He's not grossly out of scale with everyone else like he used to be. While he should be a little larger, he looks great next to MP10. Before, with everyone except Rodimus, he looked like a midget.

I can accept this scale for Sideswipe quicker than I can accept Grimlock the same height as Prime.

I seconded this. MP Grimmy looks great with MP10.

That's just me and my opinion. If anyone disagrees, it is fine by me. :D

What do you mean by accept? Sideswipe is perfect scale.
But I still think Grimlock is fine. He's not perfect scale like the current line is, but he's acceptable. I doubt they'd ever do him any bigger and his accessories are brilliant. The waiter outfit is so cute and hilarious.

I'd try and get a replacement part - I wouldn't live with that for the price we're paying, but that's just me.

The paint finish on this figure is rather disappointing.

I do wish they had the production in Vietnam instead of China. The QC and finishing for MP Movie Starscream and MP-10 Convoy (both produced in Vietnam) were excellent.

Just got mine from Robot Kingdom, was loving it until I transformed him and saw red blotches of paint on the white part of his arm. Will be returning it for an exchange.

Sigh, this always happens to me.
