Grimlock looks great! He fits in very nicely with the Alternators too! :D  The paint job also came out nicely. :D

If you don't mind me asking though, what kind of joint does his head have? Is it side-to-side only, or does it have a ball-and-socket joint?

Really?! Thank you! :D  That's great! :D  I'm really happy to hear that! :)

I'm kind of planning to wait for the American version; I want the crown. But it's really tough to resist with all these great photos! :lol  :)

Grimlock looks fantastic, but he's too small, he should be the same size or bigger than Optimus.

Who said the American version would have the crown? Actually, the American version hasn't been confirmed. Yet.

beware of the eventual us version, he can have some mods due to the toys legislations, soft plastics dino hand claw and teeth for example, at least he can also come with cools things like sound features like a "Me, Grimlock!" and somes "roaar", "grawlll" etc :D

Good review and pictures. Nice to hear that this release doesn't have the kind of QC issues that plagued MP Megatron...although I'm going to need to read a lot more reviews to be convinced that the entire run of Grimlock has good QC. Grimlock does look amazing, but I just can't justify putting $150.00 down on a single Transformer right now. Hopefully, Hasbro will release it in the States, or Takara will do a second production run in the future, when I have more money.

I know, the soft plastic is something I'm dreading. I really hate whatever type of rubbery plastic they use. Down here in Florida, I'm always scared that it will warp.

I do like the idea of a Grimlock Soundbox being packaged with him though! :D

Just to think of some of the lines!

    "Me, Grimlock, King!"

    "Me, Grimlock love stupid enemies!"

    "Bad Megatron!"

    "Me, Grimlock say exterminate them!"

It would be great! :lol  :D

Okay, I've got a question... not sure if this has been answered yet. Does he TWIST (ie: rotate) at the waist? This is a joint that the designers often don't treat as very important, though it's one of my most important points of articulation (along with the upper bicep rotation... very important Hasbro!!).

Kind of disappointed that his arms can only be outstretched to a diagonal angle to his body, rather than completely horizontal (think an "up" arrow rather than a "T"). It's not a must-have joint most of the time, but it's essential for good sword-wielding poses.

    YES, his waist rotates nicely.

His shoulders get in the way of achieving a "T".

This is what I wanted, especially for the price increase. He is taller than I thought he would be though. I have to wait on getting him due to his price and my funds right now though :(

    awesome toy.
I think I'll wait and see if either his price drops or a us version comes out first.
150 bucks is a bit steep for someone his size, even if he is that awesome.
    thanks for the pics!

Is the alt mode the taller mode? And does he come with the chef hat and everything or are those bonus accessories?

Anyone know the actual release date? I was about to run down to Toys R Us to pick this up, but if these ones coming out are just from China, I'm going to save the gas...

Oh, and for the Cosmic Rust on MP Megs.... Nevr-Dull takes it right off.
