QC = Quick Change? I'm looking forward to what paint differences exist between Takara and Hasbro's offerings.

I too am curious as to why Megatron is not in the initial wave. The only super listed is Optimus Prime. Wait, are they actually calling him "Optimus Prime"? Is it literally "MA-01 OPTIMUS PRIME"?

Are they going to be using the terms "Autobots" and "Decepticons" for this rather than "Cybertrons" and "Destrons"? The reason I ask is the use of "MA" rather than something like "MC" like one would expect in their numbering system.

Huh. English names? I'm a bit surprised at that. But then, I understand they dont dub live action movies when they import them, do they?

That's interesting. This could obliterate the cybetron / destron paradigm that we have all been used to for Japan.

Kind of sad really... I always liked the distinguishing factors of american vs. japanese

hm, maybe it's a bad news for we japanese TF fans. :(
english name isn't so familiar to us, and will not fit for japanese subtitle, I think.

half yes, half no. dubbed movie is rarely screened on theater (except movies for children), but most of them is dubbed when broadcasted on TV, or released on DVD.

Well, I understand if that's the case why it's not getting changed.

But it's kind of a pity - plus now Japanese fans can refuse to call it Transformers as there's no Convoy, Cybertrons or Destrons.

If the movie isn't dubbed in japanese, when its released over there, wouldn't it make sense to keep Optimus as Optimus, and not Convoy? If the movie just get gets japanese subtitles, the audience will still hear the original english names.

I'm certain there will be a Megatron in Takara's line.

Something to keep in mind is that due to how the toy industry is run in Japan, they can release products in a more "time correct" manner.

Meaning Takara will probably release Megatron right about when the movie comes out to keep some measure of surprise. Back during Cybertron/Galaxy Force, the Red Alert figure came out in Japan the same week as his full premiere in the series, in the US, there was a couple month gap because toys are not released on a set schedule in the US.

SWEET! that means i dont have to order all of the movie toys online!!!!
this is really great news for me. i love brick and mortar purchases. online is such a hastle living out here.

as for the names, im sure any japanese fan knows his name is optimus prime in america, just as we know he is called convoy in japan. i dont think its going to catch anyone off guard, as they know its an american movie.

    no big deal to me.
