Uh yea LG Targetmasters, Kup, Hot Rod, shark thing...
There is a thing called on topic.
I was on the fence about Rodimus but I kinda love it. I need these guys.
The topics being debated include both the toys and the comics that came with them. I would recommend that, to avoid anyone debating too much about either, maybe we could find an alternative? What do people think about suggesting a split between toy news discussion and a separate thread for the comics? Would that help?
If so, I'd be happy to (email?) the site to suggest it?
Anyway, my Kup had a loose grip in its right hand, so I had to add varnish inside it for him to hold the targetmaster.
Who the heck is the red robed girl and why does she get naked?
Otherwise, this actually makes me remember "Brad Mick" and Dreamwave G1 Volume 2 - so many speech boxes, you can barely see what the hell is going on!
On the note of the whole thing being perverted and the "let's write to takara" stuff - guys, Takara makes Legends for lonely otakus in their 30ies-40ies, not us western gaijin and especially not at kids - as you can guess from the price point, plus how little any japanese kid would know about G1 Transformers in a country where 20 other anime about giant robots is on TV all the time. They could not care less about our opinion. Hell, officially they don't even sell their toys to any market outside Japan so why should they adhere to laws that they aren't subjected to?
Btw, is that the real, targetmaster Fracas the Sweep is using at the end? Looks a bit redesigned... Makes me think Takara might release that with another Deluxe in the future...
Am I only the only 1 that thinks Kiss Players is fine?
Firstly, it is Japan. I read that they have entire departmental stores dedicated to porn...
Secondly, Binaltech was targeted to adults. So by extension Kiss Players too.
Finally, so yes, Legends is targeted to both adults and children. So again, this is Japan where Bulma flashed without panty in Dragonball. So what is the big deal with a little perverted fan service?
The underlying issue with Kiss Players was of course not just "adult content" but more the intentional rape and pedophilia imagery used with the intent of titillating its audience. As much as I dislike Sakamoto's sexualization of everyone with a vagina, robotic or otherwise, it's not at all comparable to Kiss Players.
I wish they released the missing decepticon targetmaster with an exclusive repaint /remold like Slipstream (from TR Windblade) with the targetmaster of Scourge
Are they, though? We we have the takara numbers to back them up like we do Hasbro? Takara just released two Masterforce decos of Hot Rod within two months. That's a really old show. Japan doesn't have the... (Looking for the polite word for IDW fanatics) comic fanbase that we do. They don't sell toys marketed to children like we do. I'm not saying they aren't getting into their hands. I'm just saying it's not a 1:1 analogy.
Not entirely true. You can draw whatever you want in the US. It just depends on what you label it and where it is hosted. Drawings are classified as art, and that's a whole nother briar than photos. You won't get arrested for comics.
Wow.. Kup and Roddy. I\'ll be having them this mid-October.
I pre-ordered this after I saw Targetmasters inclusion.
While Legends Arcee and Blurr, i\'ll be getting it next year (pre-ordered it way way back)
But after seeing POTP Hot Rod/Rodimus, I was like.. \"Damn, I pre-ordered Legends Roddy.\"
But then I realized that the Legends\' target master could do a big favor to the upcoming POTP Rodimus.
Maybe the TM\'s pegs could fit to POTP & Deluxe/Leader Roddy\'s hand peg holes.
According to the Takara Tomy website, Hotrod's target age group is "15+". I cannot find data for the actual LEGAL minimum toy age that this is allowed to be sold to, so I'll consult my toy packaging later. Still, although 15 isn't young children, it IS still a child demographic. Also, as far as I can tell, an "adult" in Japan is classed as someone over the age of 20, I believe.

That's not true. The possession of "legal" manga in Japan can be a crime in the USA.

*sigh* I'm going to take my own advice; since this thread has become a bunch of arguing I don't care about, I'm going to ignore it and not come back to it. I only trolled around here looking for the comic/bio scans and I have those now. Thanks again to the person who scanned them in and i hope you scan the bios/comics for future Legends releases!!! I'll troll around those NEW threads when it's time for new Legends releases.
It's sad how ironically that comic is calling the kettle black.
Pretending to be argueing against a modern fad, while being the modern fad.
Producing content that depicts children as sexual prey, women as lustobjects, beating orphans or people with a mental disability to death and other such "innocent art" serves no purpose but harmfull ones.
There is no reason why such things should be allowed and if you like such things you should be questioning your reasons for doing so.
It should be clear to an adult that what you like and what is harmless or good is not by definition the same thing.
There are good reasons why not everything should be allowed.
A couple of decennia ago our society started to get out of it's moral comfy seat and we started to scrutinise the entertainment industry and the people who got their money from it.
Why has this stopped?
Any kind of information has an impact.
Creators and distributors tend to deny and ridicule this when it might get them in trouble and flaunt it when it might get them praise.
Creators of content and distributors of content should be responsible with what they create and distribute.
And if they are not responsible they should be held responsible.
Comparing Kiss Players to actual child pornography is just stupid and not worth my time replying to such nonsense.
Well, except this reply, of course.
Can we get off our high horse and get back to talking about the toys, please?
If I was a kid and my toy came with a comic with a PG-13 level naked hot anime girl in it, I'd be thrilled. I might enjoy the comic more than the toy.
No issues with mine.
It's Blowpipe, who is getting released with Triggerhappy at the end of the month. Blowpipe was also the Targetmaster (in gun mode) featured in the latest online manga.
Who is Blowpipe for? I can't remember. Also, is Fracas getting released?
her name is shaoshao, and I suggest leaving it at that.
*still dramatized from tfwiki page*
Blowpipe is for Triggerhappy (I said as much in my original post that you quoted ).
Fracas hasn't been announced, and unless they suddenly release more Titans Returns figures in Legends, seems unlikely. Unless they pack him with some Power of the Prime figures.
You'll note that Nightstick and Fracas were the only ones not redone (both saw releases in Japan via Henkei and United lines respectively).
Honestly I feel the American high horse in this matter is flimsy at best considering that for five movies we've been subjected to whether or not Shia La Boof or Marky Mark get laid with hyper objectified and sexualized women, all the while we have racially stereotypically charged foul mouthed hyperviolent robots with testicles.
Give me cute cheeky fanservice over the hot garbage some of you call amazing blockbusters any day of any day of the week.
Seriosuly guys. The glass houses y'all are hiding out in are too fragile to be casting stones when it comes to how other countries and cultures chose to use the property over how we've butchered it.
You'd have a point of the movies weren't heavily criticized by a lot of fans for the exact reasons you listed. Both Japan and America have done some pretty shitty things with the franchise.
I'd also point out that criticizing those things and criticizing things like Sakamoto's art tends to garner the same kneejerk apologist replies. Kiss Players is of course a whole other matter.
Separate names with a comma.
