Yeah, I think it'd make a ton of sense if we got an Arcee w/Exo-Suit Daniel at some point. One might infer Takara decided on Spike/Cerebros (rather than using, say, the Ptero faceplate as a more random pack-in) *because* they knew Arcee/Daniel was forthcoming. Of course, one might be wrong . . .

 

They probably went with Spike because he has more of a connection with Bumblebee than Daniel.

By the way, do my eyes deceive me or is that purple gun Octane has a new one and not just a recolor of the long barreled gray gun he has in Titans Return?

Well then, guess I'll have to get this bumblebee then. I bought the SDCC version and the head of cerebros as fortress always bugged me, I know, closer to the Japanese Fort Max but I wanted the face I remember from season 4 US version. Didn't know about the difference until I'd already got the big guy home.

 

As much as I need it, that Spike head is horrifying and everytime I look at it all I can do is imagine it poorely singing Cher songs at the top of it's lungs.

Me too! The Spike head's head is a bit weird, but I can dig it.

Also pre-ordered Slugslinger to complete the three Takara TM Jets, although I may prefer Hasbro's blue overall since it's closer to the G1 toy's colors. Still I'm sure I'll be very happy with the Takara version when I get him in hand. Perceptor doesn't look different enough from Hasbro, and I'm skipping the TR triple changers altogether, so happy with just Bee and Slugslinger from this wave.

I mean, it's still a good looking gun, but I seriously thought it was a different gun than the one the Titans Return version of Octane has.

Anyway, very creative of Takara to suggest using Octane's shoulder pylons in tandem with the Starscream head to give the implication that Starscream has taken over Octane.  

 

Then the "cup" of the ball joint on the inside of the arms are just going to break. Same for Starscream's neck joint.

I don't have any problem with the Spike head. It's a titanmaster for gosh's sake. None of them look great. Who cares? That's not the point. You guys are complaining about a 500x super-zoomed in view of something that in reality is so tiny you're not even going to notice it.

 

I'm not complaining about it, I just think it looks funny. I have around 60 Titanmasters(which I all love), so I know what to expect.

 

So what exactly are you saying? It's gay? It looks gay?

 

I need that Spike TM. I like the clear windows for Bumblebee, and expect Takara will have better matching paint too. The different shades look horrible on Hasbro's release.

I also can't miss Ramhorn, which may see a limited release by Hasbro being the only TM in wave 5, so I may have to buy Perceptor (who I just finally found two days ago) again for him. Takara's Perceptor doesn't appear to improve on Hasbro's release, but the hinge connecting the eyepiece to Perceptor looks like it could be prone to breakage by play so it may be good to have an extra of him to set aside. Really want both versions of Ramhorn plus an extra of one to go in my separate collection of rhino figures.

I want the Decepticon jets, but that's an extra $75 to get three Target Masters. I just can't justify the extra cost for those like I can for Spike and Ramhorn.

 

TT gets an A+ for effort here. I can't give them enough credit for this and Ghost Head Starscream.


10 or 20 yrs from now, I don't see the problem so much will be broken head connectors, it'll probably be missing heads altogether.

I won't lie that kind of makes me really want the set now.  

 

I'd much rather have a voyager-sized seeker mold over a gimmick head.
