I know it's been said, but that Starscream is a disaster waiting to happen.

Most of the toys are being sold by Amazon Japan right now as pre-orders. Slugslinger is the only one sold only by a third party vendor.

Amazon Japan always lowers the price later, to be better than anyone else..... if you live in Japan .

Tempted by the Ghost Starscream head, though I'm not sure if I'm tempted enough. Slugslinger is for sure though. The others don't look all that different from the Hasbro releases.

I did the math at Amazon.co.jp and it came out to nearly 14,590 yen. Yikes.

I put in a preorder for all 4 figures at AmiAmi and it was roughly 11,700 yen or thereabouts. Much better for me, especially since I have an existing December monthly order with other non-TF figures to ship as a single package. I live in Japan, too, by the way, and AmiAmi does ship domestically within Japan.

    Shop around, is my advice.

I don't think you read my above post LOL

Okay, so anyways , I thought this was common knowledge but guess not, so here is the rundown .............

Amazon always list their items high at first , then a bit later it will be lowered ( times vary to when this happens ) and then , when you factor in the domestic shipping , it will be actually slightly cheaper than ami ami , as Ami ami charges for shipping and amazon gives you free shipping . Amazon has the price guarantee and so if you put your order in now, it will be lowered automatically later, so you don't have to worry about coming back to check everyday to see if it's been lowered. Now, the price will go up again about one and a half months before the item is released , so you don't really want to wait to put in your order or you will miss the lower price . Been doing this for over ten years now and never once in ten years was Ami ami or any other retailer in Japan cheaper when you figure in domestic shipping .

Try it and you will see

I have noticed that prices on Amazon.co.jp would fluctuate every so often, but never really noticed them guaranteed to go down as time crept closer to the product's actual release date. I shop around between them, HLJ, and AmiAmi for the most part. I'll have to experiment and see. Thanks for the advice!

Again as it gets closer to release the price will go up again . So if you want the best price put your order in now .

When you check out , it will give you the messages for the price guarantee

Oh, I get that they have a lowest price guarantee but what I meant to say that I never really noticed the price going down for sure right before release if it goes down at all. I have a habit of of fire and forget, I suppose. :D

One way to watch this is to add it to your cart and then check back everyday . If you check it every day then you will eventually see the message " an item in your cart has had the price reduced to........" not exact words but basically that . But doing it that way is time consuming lol

Also price doesn't go down "right before release " in fact it goes up. So if you preorder them , in say November, you won't get the best price .

These are nice, but not "extra cost" nice enough for me. I'll give that ghost Starscream is a great idea for the Titanmaster gimmick. Not sure I like a transparent noggin though.

(and Spike is mid-grade nightmare fuel)

Pre-ordered the wave just in case, but the only one I really want is Octane. Never thought I would buy this mold but Takara sold it to me. Looks great and the Ghost Starscream Headmaster is exactly what I wanted - a nice bonus as well as a reason to use the shoulder pylons and head stabilizers which Octane himself has no need for.
