Though I'm pleasantly surprised these are getting their own packaging (no blind packaging for the first time since Galaxy Force, even for the Legions)...yes, at first glance the packaging appears similar to knockoff packaging.

I can definitely see how the packaging looks a bit KO.

    My thoughts exactly!
Looks like bootlegs you would find in dollar-stores..

Takara Tomy.. what happened to your awesome packaging art?

We're saying it because it's true. When I first saw the Prime pic I thought 'there's a KO out already?!' but no, it's official.

Quite possibly a sign of the times of Transformers dwindling interest in Japan - Takara aren't investing nearly as much energy into Prime as they had previous lines.

Maybe true but from the packaging of the Prime series so far,i feel that Takara is trying their best to make this line get going

The size of the commander figs doesn't help. These LOOK like over-sized KOs in person too. I was very surprised...

I guess it has something to do with wanting to make the EZ Collection toys seem "accessible". Kids can pretty much wrap their hands around them...

These pics are Hasbro version toys, not Takaratomy ones.

You haven't seen enough KO packaging then if you think these don't bare a weird similarity to them.

No they're not. The pics from the link are the Japanese EZ packaging, though the toys themselves appear to possess little-to-no differences to their Hasbro counterparts.

No,no. Alfes says "(I think) No difference between EZ and Cyberverse, please check Hasbro version pics (at each links)."

So, perhaps, no difference. But, strictly, these're not Japanese version...

Huh? If these are the EZ releases, how are these not the Japanese versions when "EZ" is a Takara thing?

Which ones were you looking at--they look exactly the same to me.

My son has all of the ones released in the states, and I picked Takara's Optimus and Megatron for myself while out on Saturday. Optimus and Megatron look exactly the same in person, and the ones I saw in the store look no different from the one my son has.
