Got word this morning from wholesale that this guy is looking like he will be chrome less :(  new ab section and buster guns will still be there which makes it a straight repack of the jetwings version.

Wait a minute, I just thought of something:

No chrome doesn't mean no premium paintjob right? I mean, if we remove chrome from Buster Prime, he still has an amazing paintjob with darker colors, silver paint, pinstriped flames... Plus, it was clearly stated as a redeco wasn't it?

Yeah, I hope for the people wanting this it still gets a premium paintjob. I have Buster Prime, he's awesome, but I must say that the chrome is actually the weak part of the figure.

As with many other chromed out Transformers (like Henkei) they only chromed one part of the figure, which makes it stand out from the rest. Granted, on Prime it actually looks very decent, but it's not a miss when they replace it with the same silvery paint found on the rest of the body.

Also, the chrome ends up beneath his feet in robot mode, which means it can potentially scratch alot. I think silver paint scratches too, but slightly less.

If it's a premium paintjob I might bite. Otherwise I'l just put the extra cash towards Prime toys and the flood of video games coming later this year.

I got both Movie 1 and Movie 2 Takara Primes with chrome on the feet and not a single scratch there. You'd have to mishandle your figure on purpose to damage it.

The chrome actually belongs on this figure. The truck used forfilming has chrome all over.

I would love to have the gun for my Movie 2 Leader Prime. Can't see myself picking up the whole figure for it though, even at US retail.

Coming from Red leader, it's much better than a wild rumor. Still, we'll have to wait for photos.

I would not be surprised if Takara does another Buster-like treatment to the remold. They released the basic leader class and then Buster Prime in ROTF, so we may still get shiny chrome and crisp pin lining in DOTM...

I'm just guessing, but I think it's very likely from this point forward that any Prime toy released with the Buster decos you're referring to will probably be released as a movie masterpiece figure. I think the only reason Buster wasn't was because the line didn't exist yet. In many ways he was the first figure in the line (or maybe the second if you count the Prime from movie 1).

I would also think there's a pretty good chance we would see the revamped mold released as a movie masterpiece toy with the better paint aps. As for which of the various accessories he'll actually come with, who knows.

    Just guessing though.

I'm personally hoping that if they do this, they actually add more paint than Buster previously had. I would LOVE to see all of his cheap looking red plastic painted red instead, and maybe an attempt to improve his side mirrors.

If they did these things I certainly would consider buying the updated version of the toy.

Right now, between Buster and the Dual Model Kit, there's absolutely no reason to consider buying any other version of Prime.
