    *GALLERY UPDATED 23/11/10*

Determined to find a way to release my creative energies, I've recently been getting into making Animated TF figurines out of the UKs favourite reusable adhesive (not the most durable of materials, but cheap to buy, easy to use and good for developing skills and techniques).

My creations are simple and naive, but I reckon they're pretty charming so thought I'd share them here.

Yes I have - they're all amazing designs, but I'm not sure which I'd do next, though I reckon Hunn-Grrr would work particularly well with my sculpting style.

...you're looking at his chin arn't you? :)

I didn't. Its still maleable, but does hold its shape well once painted. I've thought of using clay to make them but its brittle and just doesn't FEEL right for transformers, whereas Blu-Tack has a soft, smooth finish I like.

:lol  I like these very much :lol  they're just my preferred style, scrappy but ingeniously awesome. The fact that they're still malleable makes me think they could be used to make a great stop motion video.

When I was younger I used to make all kindso f creatures using tack, so its cool to see someone make some transformers out of it.

If you ever feel like making some more, I would love to see them.

Then you'll be pleased to know that my next one is almost finished, and will probably be up by tommorrow. I've actually got lots of ideas I want to try out (my real fascination is with more obscure characters and anyone with an interesting colour scheme), so be sure to check back from time to time as I update my gallery.

Blot is awesome, but he needs thicker legs.
Not a big fan of Mindwipe, though. too organic.

I ran out of material when making Blot, hence why he has no hips or thighs - I'll have to finish him sometime. As for Mindwipe, unlike Blot he isn't actually based on a particular design so I was pretty much making him up as I went along, which would probably explain why he doesn't look robotic.

My next Tackformer is complete, this time based upon Mustardwketchups characterful Slingshot design. I reckon I was punching a bit above my weight with this guy and he proved the trickiest to create thus far, but overall I think he turned out well:

Well I think Slingshot looks awesome.

I have a question about the paint, does it flake after drying on the blu-tak when your holding or fiddling around with these guys?

I paint with acrylics which generally have very good adhesion and doesn't tend to rub off - I wouldn't recommend Tack-Formers as toys though, but I am thinking of ways to make them playable.

    I'm open to suggestions...
