So there I was, a 33 year old man in Toys-R-Us today, looking at the massive selection of ROTF toys when I suddenly saw a Leader Class (Preminium) Megatron from the 1st Transformers movie

I didnt buy it cause it didnt have a price.

Was that a dumb move? lol

Does anyone have this figure? How does it compare to the ROTF Leader Class Megatron?

I have both I would have to say Movie 1 is a bit better because it has more articulation then the other one But the rotf has a more movie accurate bot mode.

You can dress up a turd in shiny paint, but it's still a turd. I absolutely hate that POS. The ROTF figure is far superior in every way but paint. You saved yourself some money, I say.

    Cool :)

I have wanted to buy the ROTF figure but am waiting for the £44.99 price tag to come down...............how much do you think the T1 figure would be?

I was thinking about going for it recently, as BBTS has it for 34.99 new, but I decided to save my money for more current purchases. I think the question of it vs. the ROTF version is interesting though. The first movie mold isn't great, but the colors look beautiful on the Premium. If I had to pick, I might go with the ROTF version just because it's more accurate to Megatron now.

Nah. The first one to me is alright, not bad, but it's forgetable.

It should ring up the same, but here's an echo...it's a piece of crap moulded in silver colours this time.

It can't transform for the life of it. When\if you get it right, congratulations, you stressed plastic in areas around his hips.

In it's defense, it has a pretty BADASS jet mode [IMHO], but getting there is a horrid nightmare.

I don't have ROTF Megatron, but from what I've seen, both in 2007 and during 2009, the decepticon leader has gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to effort for the leader class figure.

Is TFM1 Megatron in ROTF packaging or his old TFM1 packaging. If it is in ROTF packaging, then it is a swapped item (customer buys ROTF Megatron, goes home and swaps it with his older Megatron, and returns it for a refund, essentially getting a "free" figure). Definately do NOT buy it if it is in ROTF packaging as it may be damaged/broken, missing parts, etc.

He is in the original T1 packaging so its deffo worth a purchase I think.

They also had Ironhide (Voyager I think he was) and Megatron robot replica...........both in the original T1 packaging.

Oh and the helicopter from the start of T1 (sorry ive forgotten his name).

That is good to hear. Though I own the first release version of the toy, the one you stumbled on has a much nicer paint job. The alt mode is ugly (IMO) and the transformation is a bit weird if too simplistic but if you really dig the robot mode and it isn't more expensive than the ROTF version then buy it.
