except they did, Hades not only is the name of the King of the Underworld, the elder brother of Zeus and Poseidon, but it is also the name of his domain, which is the underworld, so basically Hades pretty much means underworld.. everyone who dies in greek mythology, go to hades which by the mean of a boat.. and then they get judge which they'll either (if i remember correctly), go to the field of elysium, get torture in tartarus (which is technically hell) or just enjoy the eternity in hades, the underworld not the god..

edit: it's been more than 5 years since i touch anything in greek mythology, so there is a high chance i'm wrong.. just saying..

The Greek underworld (you have to be specific as there are 2 dozen such mythological places) has 5 rivers (Styx, Acheron, Lethe, Phlegethon, Cocytus ) and 4 areas, Elysium (the reward of heroes), Tartarus (the pit where most of the Titans are imprisoned* and the place where bad people get chucked), Asphodel meadows (place for those who lived an unremarkable life), and the mourning fields.

*Some sided with and were never imprisoned, and one is under Hephaestus's forge.

I had to pause the end of the latest Expanse episode to check that I saw what I though I saw - this is going to get interesting...

There were tons of mythologies and names for the Underworld and it's Rulers.. even Greek had several, not just Hades, tho he's the one we know because of Zeus and Poseidon being so popular in series & movies, etc. I have always loved Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Norse mythology.. but there's dozens more that each have a name for the Underworld and it's rulers..

In Greek mythology... Hades is also joined by ...
Cerberus, Charon, Pluto, Keres, Persephone, Thánatos

So it looks like Magicians decided to give us Persephone in these episodes... I liked her. :thumb  But I was surprised she was his mom... I really missed something earlier, I thought they were lovers. oops.

Anyway, the return of Alice... eh, so far, not much going on there, but did get a kick out of her with the Russian dude.

I also must have missed something else, the mob librarian brought up no phones, etc... and I had wondered about that earlier (since I hadn't seen anyone with a phone, tablet, etc).. once they go to Brakebills or wherever they're practicing magic on earth, they don't use any electronics? They can't???
Don't get me wrong, I love that they're reading books, working in a library, etc... but I did wonder.

Fillory, I get it's a created world, based on the novels, so one thing we haven't seen there are cell towers. :lol
Speaking of Fillory, things are messed up there... hurry up Eliot.

Guess we were sadly correct about Chris Gorham, he didn't last long... at least it happened off camera.... or did it happen? Kinda hope not.

And Julia got her shade back after all... pays to be nice sometimes.

DVRing tonight's ep.. gotta see what happens with Penny.

Well, this week's ep wasn't as Penny focused as it was Quentin... well a little of everybody. I forgot it was the mid-or season finale.

Alice and Q had a moment, but will it last, will she? She's seen things.

Penny isn't fairing too well.. but he's still got some fight left in him. :lol

Down with the Horned Ones! :lol
Quentin and Julia took care of that storyline from the looks of things... now, truly all hell is breaking loose, with the arrival of the Fairy Army. Yikes.... and no magic??!!

Except Julia had a little spark...

My DVR cut off the very end.. when will they return?

Anyone watch the S3 premiere last night? I thought it was pretty good. I was a bit surprised to see that Syfy is now allowing F bombs. The were muting them during the first two seasons.

As a book fan I'm excited with the story they seem to be doing for this season. It covers a lot of the second book. The rest of the second book has mostly been told, in the form of Julia's story.

I've been watching it on Netflix the only problem that I have is everyone being polyamorous, and surprisingly enough too much sex stuff.

The Expanse is being cancelled and I'm displeased. My favorite show on TV and this season has been top notch.

It's only being cancelled by Syfy.
The company that makes it still wants to do it, they are shopping it around to Netflix.Amazon/ hulu etc. So it may still continue.

    Doomcock wasn't happy

Syfy didn't advertise the series well, so many people didn't know about it, then the people that did often DVRed it or watched it on Netflix in season binges. So the ratings weren't great.

It seemed like the show was a bit more of a critics darling rather than a rating success. Ive been wanting to watch it but just haven’t found the time.

Don't bother, it's derivative and overall terrible.

Disagreed. It’s excellent sci-fi and extremely engaging. It is a bit slow though, but the story is worth becoming invested in.
