He's a near perfect IDW version of Blurr in Voyager scale. If you're in the market for one of those, then you're not going to get better.

If you're not in the market, he's still a bloody good figure anyway.

Unless you are fluent in Chinese, u should definitely use a taobao agent.

 

I like this guy a lot and wish I coulda gotten him at that price. My only beef with Overclocking is that he needs another ratchet for his hips. He's either doing a straight leg G1 pose or an awkward wide leg stance.

 

It's a great figure at any reasonable price. I've happily displayed him on my G1 Season 3 CHUG shelf.

 

However, he is one of the few figures that can quite happily take a knee.

Is this guy really based on an IDW Blurr?

 

That's what people have said, but no, I don't actually think so. If it is, it's pretty loosely based. He's really only had two looks in IDW, his Cybertronian mode (as seen in Spotlight: Blurr, Robots In Disguise/Transformers ongoing vol. 2, and Windblade (both volumes), and his earth mode (glimpsed briefly in the first volume of Transformers ongoing, when Don was doing those weird G1/movie hybrid designs. The Earth mode had a hood for a chest, so that's not it, and the Cybertronian mode has pointed skirts, flaps on his shoulders, and angular legs with pointed feet and wheels for ankles. The only IDW-ish design cue that isn't also a G1/generally Blurr-ish cue are the engine pods on his back, but even then IDW Blurr has two big ones and Overclocking has four smaller ones.

 

Got my sxs blurr last week, finally fiddled with it today. The tiny sliding plastic nub on one of his forearm broke off immediately on first transformation  

Luckily it doesn't really affect the alt mode. Fun transformation, great figure, but don't look too closely at the details...Quite a few minor imperfections but nothing too glaring.

All in all, a great steal at 32bucks  

 

Is there a way to fix up the sideward movement of the thigh ratchets?

 

I wish. I'd buy the hell out of some Shapeways ratchet joints that added a couple of clicks.

 

Aside from that, I think this figure still holds up pretty swell.
