From the Allspark:
Happy hunting, folks!
they look good for what they are.I really like boba fett
Post your reviews of Boba and Maul here I want to see if they improve on the QC and design.
Just got Anakin and Darth Maul at a target in Riverside CA. Pics up in a bit
I want to like these. I really do. But I just can't get past the crap robot modes...
I really want Maul.
Awesome pics! Cool, I like how they added the scar to anakin's face.
Darth Maul looks amazing ! Wish I could get my hand on him now instead of having to wait a few months..
Can't wait to find Darth Maul... Isn't Boba Fett part of that wave? I don't want Anakin though, no redecos/retools for me.
I wasn't going to buy any SWTF but Darth Maul looks so freaking sweet I think I'll take a chance on him.
So are the joints tighter on Darth maul than Vader had? We need a review!
Looks much better than Wave 1. I'll be picking these guys up.
ok So heres my review of Darth Maul
Plastic quality is overall the same as previous figures, if you didnt like it before you still wont. The Star Wars designers need to learn that transforming toys need better plastic. Two of the stubs that whols the legs together are alreadt bending and dont fit in their holes well.
Starting at the head and working my way down.
Awesome head sculpt in my humble opinion. Just as evil as the real Darth Maul but still very robotic. Full rotation but no up or down rotation
Arms are very articulated and have all the need joints except for forearm rotation. However the wrist still uses the pin through the ball joint design that restricts movement. On the MAJOR plus side Darth's hand sculpt is a vast improvement and doesnt look like a claw as others have. His right hand is sculpted to hold his two missles to replicate his dual light saber. But the other hand cannot which seems just dumb
Yes that is correct Darth comes with two shorter than average light sabers but they do not connect in any way.
His torso is a little round but it comes form the vehicle design and the need for the cockpit.
Another annoying design choice is that Darth has full waist rotaion as a result of the transformation but it is hinder by a piece of his alt mode that connects to his ass and gets folded up. So if you want to turn his waist he has to have a tail.
Darth does have good leg articulation but it is restricted by parts of his alt mode. The crotch plate keeps him from kicking without dificulty and the kibble on the back of his calves keep his knees from bending a full 90 degrees. Also the lack of a back heel piece makes certain poses hard to balance with the weight of his wings on his back.
I have to say though I really like this figure. I tried to point out things that piss others of but compared to the other SWTFs and it shows the designers are learning from the past mistakes. If they continue on this path we could see some great pieces down the line.
I think Darth Maul is best looking one yet. Shame his ship mode isn't so impressive. True to form, yes, just not as exciting as most of the others.
Man, the headsculpts just went up 400%. Anakin and Maul look a -lot- more like robotic versions of their pilots than robots -styled after- their pilots.
Maul is awesome, but repaints in this line=
They should have made Anakin a Naboo fighter.
I may actually try Boba.. Those pics make him look far less of a porker than the others. Looks decent actually.
