    UPDATE PAGE 2

So a little info first, Cindersaur was the last TF I bought as a kid way back in about '88/'89 - after that, nothing TF related was purchased for nigh on 12 years!

I still have that little guy, he's come to uni, sat on my desk in the design consultancy I worked at, and now is sat in front of the books I use for my lecturing job.

But I couldn't help thinking....his toy is a little cruddy. He's a dinosaur for gods sake! No way would he be standing his ground against Grimlock, so after a long time planning, I bring you Supreme Cindersaur!

After scoring a RID Predacon Megs on the bay (i've owned the Galvy version for years but I couldn't bring myself to use him) I set about doing some test runs etc, and here he is - I need to do a little more touching up here and there, but i'm so damn excited I thought I'd share him with you guys!

There are a few liberties, yes I know he doesn't originally have two heads, or wings per sé, but I think these additions just make him look more badass :p

Oh, and this is my second repaint ever so be kind please

But opinions would be lush :)

Looking very well thus far, the paint is very smooth. Just a bit to relieve the contrast a little and to raise some details and he's perfect. Original choice of mould, but a great one, that Megs is a sweet figure.

thanks dude! How best do you reckon to do this - i've read throught the tutorials but i'm a bit lost on how best to take it forward in the way you said - but hey i'm still learning! And I love this mould - it's so cool!

Thanks guys, you don't know how great it is to get the feedback from posters I respect so much!

Well this is all just opinion and I'm no expert, so please take my thoughts with a healthy grain of salt. There are lots of fine details on that mould and I love your smooth paint applications, so I'm thinking lighter and darker yellows and purples on the trims and panels, nothing fancy. Maybe some gold on that nice detail around his spark crystal, then dot it on the arms and legs a bit to tighten it up.

It's a lovely clean paint job, no need to jump into panel lining or dry brushing just yet with it. Should you chose to though test it out on a cheaper figure or a KO to get the techniques right.

You are fantastic fella! Thank you! I totally get what you mean, it is by no means finished, but yeah I sort of want to not screw it up so i'm willing to take my time aha!

On a side note, I have two bits of plastic that have been left over from the putting back together - I took notes of where everything went, and still left with these two little bits lol - no idea where they have appeared from but the figure hasnt fallen apart yet som im thinking its all good :D

For only second time I would say you did a great job. Specifically on the yellow

Thanks! I learnt a lot on the first, like how not to splodge paint on aha! The yellow was all down to prep and priming, all the purple parts I primed with a flat grey, and the yellow with a flat white - it really worked a treat!

He was such a cute little toy, but I remember seeing this in a transformers annual I think and ever since I thought he needed to be more badass ahaha

haha totally, but then again when did the toys/comic/carton ever match up? poor G1 Kup, Wheelie and Ultra Magnus (even though I loved mine) Though I am looking at maybe putting a horn on the heads - this megs came without the feet guards too which would have been ace as the frill neck but hey ho :(

OH and I started adding some more details, so i'll put some more pics up soon!

    Update 30/3

Hi guys a little update with this:

After taking on people's comments and crits I've started to work on the more finishing touches to break up the two-tone colour scheme.

I've worked in some warm yellows to pick out the details of the chest, along with some bright purple dry brushing to bring out the depth in the purples, especially in the wings and legs, along with some silver accents all over.

I'm putting this down for a bit now before I over work it too soon - but I am going to start work on a cool little scratchbuild project which you can see here

once again fire away with the comments so I can continue to learn!

    Thanks!
