I don;t like all that blue. It needs somehting to break it up. I'll see the film though. If its a good film the lack of Red Undies won;t change that.
Finally we have some up-close and clear pictures of the costume. Looks awesome and definitely bad ass. The suit seems to have "alien" inspired design on it. Maybe their following Birthright or The new DCnU where the suit is Kryptonian inspired? Also nice to see they fixed his hair from the one in the promo shots.
Well... 1) good: the cape and boots are red, not burgundy like in Superman Returns 2) the suit is unnecessarily complicated (damn the Spidey movies for introducing that concept to superhero costumes!) 3) his hair is not supposed to be parted on the right (minor gripe) He doesn't look bad as Superman, I'll give him that.
It'll take a little getting used to for me personally, but it's not bad. The suit looks like it fits in the Nolanverse.
I think it looks pretty good. But I do agree that they should've done more to break up the blue. I think some sort of red section that went around the waist/pelvis area could've worked in place of the trunks.
Don't have a problem with their take on the suit, but I still take issue with the bouffant on his head.
Looks pretty cool actually, though I think a red belt would have worked wonders. One thing I can say is that this guy definitely looks beefy enough to be Superman. In my opinion, he looks more the part than Brandon Routh did in Superman Returns, although I loved Routh's interpretation as well (especially his Clark). Can someone explain to me the lawsuit involved with the red trunks? I'd appreciate it.
The heirs of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman's creators, are suing DC Comics for the rights to Superman. And thanks to a sleeze ball lawyer they won back a lot of Superman's backstory and a lot of his iconography (the name Clark Kent, the red shorts, his Kryptonian parents' names, Krypton, and a few more). And I guess they nixed the belt to the extent that if the heirs win the belt in the suit, WB can say "SEE? It's molded rubber. You can't sue us."
The reason the lawyer is a sleeze ball is he will end up with 45% or more of the rights based on the current contract. So he is really more interested in his own rights than the families. He has stopped 2 chances at a compromise between the families and DC so far. He has been so abusive and sleezey Dc is suing him.
From what I hear, they've actually got some pretty decent evidence against him. Hopefully they can get his ass disbarred, so they can make a deal and this crap can be over with.
