The planes are seriously CW-level.

[add] exposed elbows are soooo 2 years ago. I wonder if the legbots can be reversed and still retain articulation. The nosecones would still get in the way, I guess, even if the joint works.

Can we get a decent 3P combiner for petesake! Zeta - trash, UT - trash ... its like they're not even trying, content to nab beer-goggled collectors who'll pick up whatever they can at the end of the night ...

 

If it's cheap, I can dig it. If it's asking normal 3P money for a combiner then ... guess not.

 

I don't like this version.
Reasons:
1) very like CW superion, if it's MP scale, that's not good enough in design.
2) The Superion is stilling have skeleton elbow... this is 2017, these kind of combiner design belong to 5 years ago.

 

Clearly a ko of the cw set. But they do seem to have redone the wings and given him some decent feet n hands at least I guess. Eh an affordable improvement to a decent hasbro set if nothing else. Cool for people who want that I suppose.

I like the waist swivel and the new lightning gun. Will await size and price. If it's cheap and doesnt look too large next to other CW stuff, it might work.

You know if this is just a retooled CW Superion, couldn't they have just thrown in some thigh covers to address one of the most glaring shortcomings of combined mode?

 

If combined mode is decent looking and sizes well with one of the two MP scales (TW/Zeta or UT/XTB) and theprice is low, it might be a nice filler, or a combined mode only option for those interested in displaying alt, bit and combined?
But yeah, those alt modes look pretty average. Individual bot modes would be the real giveaway as to what this is.

 

Wow, this newly Superion certainly puts CW Superion into shame. If that grey prototype were to rotate the leg other way around, I would've thought it was the G1 Superion, lol. Then again, if he's in my collection, those leg will always be in the G1 toy/toon configuration...it just looks better in my eyes that way. As a huge Superion fanboy, I approve this combine mode as well as the alt.mode. Let's see how the individual robots look.
