Correct. Also Supergirl's mother, Eliza Danvers, is played by the same woman that played Supergirl in the 80's movie, Helen Slater. That's a nice nod to the franchise!  

 

I'll admit, if they established it in season 1, I probably didn't see it, but given that you've got White Martians who have been committing genocide against your Director, androids in human skin, enhanced humans, and any number of unknown aliens, that there isn't a mandatory X-ray/MRI/whatever machine at the entrance to check these people in is beyond stupid.

The entire episode, I was wondering if Kara would finally take a peep with her X-ray vision and see something's off, but nope.

Also did he not do the psych eval or was everyone so impatient they gave him free reign and an access keycard beforehand? If he did do the eval, whomever did it should be fired post haste.

 

Can't do any of that.
-MRI's a way too finicky (you have to stay perfectly still to get any kind of reading) not to mention heavy and throw out huge magnetic fields
-X-ray machines throw out ionizing radiation that will give you radiation poisoning if you get enough of a dose over time
-Those things they use at airports could be just as risky as an x-ray
-Metal detectors are about all you could use.

 

Yeah, too bad this isn't Sci-Fi where not only could you handwave it away, but you couldn't even say that you've got alien technology to do just that! I mean it must be so frustrating for the writers at having to do all the science and math every time Kara uses her X-ray vision to measure the rads, not to mention how the vision works and what's emitting and receiving the X-rays for her to see through objects if she's also the emitter.

 

I wondered how long it would take to get to the obvious subplot that Monel is not the bodyguard, but the prince.

Also they used the same scene from Legends of Tomorrow when Rip was escaping and Jax would not kill him, so he let him go. Do these heroes not know you can shoot someone in the leg? Guns are not always lethal people! You can shoot to disable someone.

As far as shooting in the leg - that's no guarantee. Just ask Sean Taylor. There's no "safe" part of the body to shoot someone. Plus Alex has that alien death ray gun so who knows what it would do to a human.

Yep... IIRC, even gave us a flashback that showed the Prince saved him (Mon El) by sending him to Earth in the 'last' pod.

 

There is no such place. Sure shoot him in the leg, you hit the femoral artery and he bleeds out in less than 30 seconds. Or you destroy his knee, crippled for life. Or the bullet causes nerve damage and it takes of physical therapy to regain full use of the leg.

Yeah, but in the case of Legends of Tomorrow, it was a real gun, and they have a space ship with a super-computer life saving machine that can cure anything.

Or, you know, smack them over the head, take the things they stole (the database on Supergirl, the spear of destiny on Legends). Just saying "oh, I can't shoot my old friend turned evil, I guess I have to let them escape, is pretty silly, since my ONLY choices are their death and their escape with the important item!

I'm thinking that yes Mon-El is lying (he's actually the Prince), but that it's more a Prince and the Pauper gag. He hated being the Prince and when he had a chance the just ditch the whole thing he took it.

 

So Kara finally made with the super sex. No mention as to whether or not this was supposed to be her first time. She did say that she's broken a few guys noses just from the impact of kissing.
