One question I see a number of times being asked in forums is when Super Smash Brothers is going to be released on the DS/DSi. It seems like a fair question given the appeal of carrying a portable version of this popular brawler on the go. So the question is, do you want a "Smash Bros DS" or another Smash Bros on Wii?

I've thought for a long time an on-line SSB game would be pretty awesome. On the other hand, I've seen how a lot of people treat their controllers when playing that game, and I'd hate to think what they'd do to their DS's.

As far as a new console version, I don't personally think it's a game we need a new version of every two or three years. Brawl should be enough for now, and Nintendo/HAL and other involved parties should be working on other stuff for now. HAL in particular needs to finish up that epic Kirby game they keep teasing us with. Considering it was originally planned for the Gamecube, I think it's a little overdue.

I'm not sure the DS screen is big enough to handle a smash bros game.

I don't the DS would handle all the stuff that was in SSBB and there would be lots of moaning about this and that not being in it

Why not just port over the original Super Smash Brothers to the DS like they did with Super Mario 64? Maybe add in a couple new characters and levels.

Which reminds me, there are a bunch of great N64 games that deserve to be ported onto the DS, like the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

If anything SSB needs more characters and levels not worse graphics and touch controls.

If they make a Smash Bros for the DS, use 2-D Sprites.

I don't see how a fighting type game can work on the DS.The only thing the touch would be used for is the second screen.

The touch screen could be used as a character/trophy viewer, using the stylus to move the models around.

There have already been good fighting games similar to SSB on the DS, so I guess it doesn't matter whether you see how or not. :)

If it was 2D sort of like Jump Super Stars, then it could work. I mean Jump Super Stars was great and it was identical to SSB.

I think the concept of porting the original Smash Bros. to DS is a great idea- like Super Mario 64 DS, it could minimize the amount of touchscreen needed. Add some new items, one or two new, more familiar characters and stages, and you've got a total winner. Of course, update the control system to Brawl-level standards- I don't want dodging or grabbing to be as lagging as they were in Melee.

I think Smash is best on console systems. So, no.
