This was the game I showed to people who asked why I liked the SNES games library better than Genesis. It just screams "Quality" and there was nothing else like it until SoTN came out on the PlayStation. It's still rare to find a game on any console that's so perfectly put together in every aspect.
Yeah. Ridley is the only boss I find somewhat difficult. Doom: May I call you the Super Metroid god? 100% in under 2 hours? I wish I had you r skillz.
Wow, I don't think one poster has thrown in a negative opinion. For that to happen on an online forum, you know the game has to be special!
No one wants to admit to having bad enough taste in games to not like Super Metroid. They may admit to and even brag about all kinds of other poor choices in gaming, but this isn't one of them. Like I said, the sheer quality in every aspect of the game is undeniably obvious to just about anyone.
I'm actually embarrassed to say I've never finished Super Metroid. It's the only one. When I first played it, as a child, I couldn't even wall jump, and I got stuck at the point. I've played it since then, but only for a short period of time because the snes cartridge didn't save anymore and I'm not into ROMs. I love the game so much but I feel like I'm disrespecting the series because of never finishing it. : (
wall jumping is a pain in the ass to learn, but you can get through the game without ever doing it once if you want to. the only place it's required is the place that the little animals teach you the trick.
That's what I do. I never ever learned that wall jump trick. I did a few times by accident but could never pull it off again.
Yeah, wall jumping is one of the most difficult things to do in the game but you don't need to do it. I still can't do it to this day.
I was so obsessed with the game I played through it and tried wall jumping to get to places I would normally have to wait until much later. I was actually able to get into the secret area above and to the left of Samus' ship by wall jumping.
