I have been and always will be a fan of the Superbowl. One of the most favorite things that excite me about the Super Bowl is the Logo. I dont know if anyone else here is into that but I am. At any rate, next years Logo has been revealed here:

    What do you think?

IMO it's simple but effective. It shows the 10 and the 5 yard line and the last thing is the goal line into the Super Bowl.

At least it would look good on both uniforms since both teams wear blue. Giants wear blue, Colts wear white.

I have a noob question. I always thought the Superbowl was in a team neutral stadium. What happens if the Tampa Bay Bucs are in it? Do they move the SB stadium location?

No, besides, it will be very hard for Tampa Bay fans to fill the entire stadium. Super Bowl tickets are distributed through a random drawing nation wide and you only get to purchase 2 per winning. So unless someone wins those tickets and sells them to a Tampa Bay fan they wont be going. To back that up he is a qoute from the Tamba Bay Super Bowl Host Committe:

    How are game tickets distributed?

The demand for tickets to Super Bowl XLIII greatly exceeds the NFL's ability to accommodate the majority of fans interested in attending the game. The vast majority of Super Bowl tickets (approximately 75%) are distributed to the 32 NFL teams. The participating teams each receive 17.5% of the tickets, the non-participating teams receive 1.2% and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as the host team, will receive 5%. The remaining 25.2% are controlled by the NFL and are distributed primarily to NFL affiliated companies, the broadcast network, corporate sponsors, media, VIP's charities, fans and the Host Committee.

You can find that and more information here:
    http://www.tampabaysuperbowl.com/gameday_faqs.htm

Also I found this information at: http://www.nfl.com/help/faq

How can I buy Super Bowl tickets?

The only method the NFL has to distribute tickets to the public is through a random drawing. There is no other way for the general public to purchase tickets. The NFL does not sell tickets to travel or ticket agents. Entries for the random drawing are accepted between Feb. 1 and June 1 of the year preceding the game in question. All ticket requests must be sent via certified or registered mail. Those selected in the random drawing will have the opportunity to purchase two tickets.

That logo reminds of the Bank of America logo for some reason.

I'm waiting to see what they do with Super BowL.

Hopefully it's more imaginative than that. :redface2:

Actually my question was regarding the teams. What happens if the Bucs make it to the SuperBowl? Do the Bucs get the ultimate home team advantage or does the NFL move the SB location? I didn't think they'd choose the location this early because I thought part of choosing the location was making sure the stadium isn't one of the 2 teams playing.

The Super Bowl is locked into where ever they decide to have it. If the home team happens to make it, they happen to get homefield advantage.

As you will notice though, Super Bowl locations have been at large stadiums owned by under-preforming teams.

I miss college football right now.

Open scrimmage in 6 months (or so), though!

the nfl is scared to go north for the superbowl.

I swear they fear cold weather! honestly whatever happened to say the packers hosting the superbowl, or the steelers?

I mean seems like its in florida every other year, if not in New orleans.

    Hopefully INDY can host SBXLVI

but its going to have a roof on it.

I'd almost be happy if the superbowl was in boston, if they had a football team that was worthy.....haha

I dont think they want to take a chance that a snowstorm might happen. They want to make as much money as possible. Airport cancellations would not be good. Heck, it was still rainy and cold in Phoenix.

I remember that Super Bowl 26 was played at the Metrodome and thats in the North, the last Super Bowl to be played inside up north was Super Bowl 40 in Detriot and you know its cold there so there could be a chance. As for outside, I would say probally never and then again you never know but it looks like never. Its a warm event and the NFL wants to make the most money possible.

I think that logo looks pretty slick. I think I would change the blue stripe to a different color though.

The Super Bowl has had some very nice looking logos. I think the XXV logo is one of the nicest. Same with the XIX one. Actually a lot of the 20s logos were very well done. The 30s started to get to modern.

For a nice site with them all http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=593

Does anyone else see the irony of letters XLIII used to describe an American sporting event?
