Does anyone know why the Superchargers that snap on top of Sunstreaker/Sideswipe have hinges? I noticed the grey peices flip down. Is there some kinda alternate use for them. I read on some promo ad for Sideswipe that his gun and supercharger combine together to form his shoulder launcher? WTF is up with that?

Twins or not, Sideswipe has not business having the supercharger. Granted the G1 Sunstreaker/Sideswipes were completely different toys but IMO Sideswipe dont need one now.

His Flare Launcher (essentially just a redeco of Sunstreaker's Electron Pulse Blaster) can be combined with the removable engine assembly and mounted in either of the holes on his shoulders to simulate Sideswipe's Generation 1 missile launcher. Of course, this leaves him without a hand-held weapon. The engine can also be mounted on Sideswipe's back as his jet pack.

HTF do I combined his engine and gun?

 

Eh, you just fold down the grey "intakes" over the side of the gun, doesn't clip or snap in place just kinda holds on a bit.

I just have the cannon in the shoulder and the pack on his back, the combo doesn't look that good IMO

 

On my Sunstreaker, it does clip and hold very nicely.

While I'll agree that sideswipe shouldn't have a supercharger in his alt mode he does need that piece for his jetpack. Alternatively, Sunstreaker has no business havin the jetpack. The combo gun doesn't work well at all with either of mine so I just keep the super charger on the back of each and simply fold the intakes in on Sunstreakers.

 

On Sunstreaker its not a Jetpack, look at the G1 its supposed to look like the Intakes behind his head.

 

^ I know this. But that doesn't stop it from looking like a jetpack.

 

I acftually quite like the gun/intake combo, and I'll actually be using for a custom I'm working on.

There's kind of a trick to it, and if you fiddle with it enough, it should stick - it's not super-sturdy or anything, but it does stay. I actually find it easiest to fold the intakes down first, and sort of slide the gun in from behind. There's no real physical reason for it that I can figure, but for some reason it seems to hold better.

 

I always wondered what that combined gun thing was about when people mentioned it. Just tried it myself and it fits rather snugly. Looks like Sunstreaker has a Targetmaster weapon now.

Yes. If only there was some way to not put the supercharger on Sideswipe's vehicle mode.

The gun on mine required just a little filing in order for the intakes to fit correctly. Yours may be the same.
