He plays a really big roll in the second Dreamwave comic book series. If your local comic book store has any of Dreamwave's G1 comic trade paperbacks available, thumb through them and you'll find plenty of Sunstorm action.
In addition to the above response, Sunstorm was originally shown on the G1 cartoon as a nameless Cybertronian Decepticon warrior (along with 2 others); ordered by the earth-bound Megatron to attack Autobots led by the human Chip - who were searching for Cybertronian components to save O.Prime's life. Edit: I meant "earth-stranded" Megatron...
He first showed up as an E-hobby exclusive repaint of Starscream. He has since gone on to spread his ugliness to other lines and media.
I think the whole Sunstorm idea was a really cool one with the E Hobby repaint, but I think it's been played out. Still love my Sunstorm though! *cuddles*
In the Dreamwave comic series, Sunstorm was a clone of Starscream, with massive godlike power and an evangelical view of things. Insanely powerful, and really a bit much for a six issue arc of nothing but him.
Sunstorm is a really really neat transformers who really deserve a role in the common live TF movie , and tell me, did my sig inspire you to search for him?
Amazon.com has a TPB of the Sunstorm arc listed with a release month of this December. You'll see him take on Jetfire, Starscream, Bumblebee and even Omega Supreme!
No, he is misinformed. The episode is "Divide and Conquer". The three bots in that episode were blue, green, and yellow. Sunstorm is orange.
Why not? Mount him on a wooden stick, put him in the freezer, and a few hours later, you've got yourself a creamy, orangey frozen treat (on a stick).
Mmm... kaiser roll. The only Sunstorm I have is the Mini-Con. I kinda like the ehobby one (not enough to buy it), but most of the others are just meh. Especially the Universe one.
