Yep, no warning. I just lost my service. I don't even know if I will get a refund. Wonderful.

VOIP, like Vonage. The big companies like Verizon and Comcast have been bullying them around with silly lawsuits. Causing big layoffs and such. Which is a shame, VOIP is a great service and it is way less expensive than a standard home line.

yeah that sucks man! VoIP is a tricky business. lots of companies think they have what it takes to have a VoIP service, but its hard to turn a profit!

I hate talking to people with VoIP. Sounds like they're talking with their head in a box.

They must have a bad service. I've never had that problem in this area.

Neither have I. Always had great reception. My buddy has Vonage, and it sounded great too.

Well we have been having tons of customers switch to us! And we have a little over a million customers! VoIP is a tricky service. to many variables that can cause crappy service.

and service quality is based on quality of the internet connection. DSL is usually better for VoIP, as cable speed can sometimes fluxuate and hinder the call quality! also, you should have it in between your modem router or modem pc!

the phone still works because of the company that operates on the backend. not all subscribers will lose phone service. some will be absorbed into other companies. ALL VoIP companies use the same backend on their sysyems. its a company called Level3 communications. They provide the call routing and such. VoIP companies provide the tech support and general service/sales. Level3 has stated they will provide general service for a short while as E911 still needs to be in effect.

I'm assuming customers are going to receive some sort of statement regarding this. How long will we be without phone service? Are our contracts still valid? Do we have to sign a new extended contract?
