Don't use spray cans indoors to customize/paint TF parts. Aside from the obvious health risks, you'll get nice flecks of paint all over the rest of your stuff. Had to do a lot of cleaning and dusting after that.

    Funny as owt though,

stupidest thing I've done, recently destroying my complete Cybertron Leader Prime for a custom only to decide that I have a better idea and he has been wasted for pretty much nothing.

After seeing that G1 episode in which Blitzwing falls into Lord Chumley's trap, covered in a green blob, I decided to re-enact the scene with my G1 Blitzwing and this :

( not exactly this pot, but the one from MOTU at the time in the 80's)

    * edit: ah... it was a refill pot from this :

I did have my fun, but oh boy.... it wasn't easy cleaning up Blitz, because the toy slime which got stuck in the creases dried up, thus became even more difficult to get rid of.

This one time at bandcamp... sorry, had to do it... I bought an original g1 tracks and he has been customized nicely with this silver spray paint, so I figured id try and make him blue again using my fancy (new at the time) dremmel tool with a brush attachment. It worked well on the flat parts with a little rubbing alcohol. But the other parts the paint was harder to remove so in turn, I had to use more pressure on the tool, which heated the plastic. Needless to say, tracks is now almost featureless except the stickers which look fine by the way. And the roof and doors are made from clear plastic that is PAINTED blue to match the molded plastic...get where I'm goin here?? So he almost now looks like a half transparent burn victim, that only resembles tracks in the face, sticker, wing area. No more dremmel tools near any transformers ever in my house...

the dumbest thing i ever did with a transformer had to be bar none using G1 blaster (back when he first came out) as a club to beat another kid's ass with. (what can i say i was violent and hated being bullied)

I once tried to customize a KO Real Gear Speed Dial 800 (the package actually says Speed Dial Boo, hehe) tried to make it look more realistic using real mobile phone parts. Needless to say, I failed and just destroyed the figure.

not TF-related but when I was young took a friends (would have been now Vintage) Chewbacca figure in a lamp "jail cell" his mom came in some time later to tell I'd be leaving soon, turning (and leaving) the lamp on.... needless to say over 10 minutes pass, and a strange smell fills the room, Chewbacca had "merged" with the bulb (I think his head was the only "solid" piece left) needless to say things didn't go well...

My brother gave Chewbacca a mow hawk but melting him from his head all the way down his back and stuck toothpicks in him every couple of millimeters. he also played Dr. with his GI. Joes and swapped parts all the time to come up with his own Joes...

and he has ripped plenty of my Transformers/Joes apart cause he was mad at me.

I think the weirdest things I've done with TF's is

    1. Sitting them in trees and watching them fall off and having to put their arms or legs back on.

    2. Mismatching parts like arms legs and heads; you make some quite funny characters that way :lol

One stupid thing I did was deliberately knocking movie Megatron off a shelf high on my wall with stuff in my room resulting in most of the other figures being knocked over or off as well because of my terrible aim. I'm not exactly his biggest fan... Unfortunately I mean fortunately he wasn't broken.

Popping off First Edition Cliffjumper's head. The plastic on the neck-hole stayed deformed, and it stayed loose

Yes, I just massively necroposted in my own thread.

In some cases, the dumbest thing I've done with a TF toy was actually purchasing it.

The only time I ever straight up broke a figure (as an adult). CW Voyager Optimus, for some reason I forgot which way the hands move for transformation. Pushed the wrong way on the left hand and snapped it clean off.

I traded most of my school supplies in first grade for a G1 ravage and my parents made me get it all back. Kind of weird that's the only transformer I remember having in the 80's for a few days at least.

back in 1984 my mom surprised me at X-mas by getting me G1 optimus prime. I was so happy that she did that, but I needed to see if he was a worthy toy.....so I threw him down the steps.

    He was worthy.
