I sold a rotf supreme devastator on eBay and the jerk is saying that it is defective. It was misb. Everyone knows that the devastator makes noise with every little bump. He also complained that the shovel was loose in the box. He is filing a claim against me because of these 2 things. I am really starting to hate eBay....

Unfortunatly eBay is now in the Buyers favour 9/10 due to how their policy is written. (I may exagerate)
Either way all I can say is Good luck, pal.

Just curious but if his 'claim' is aggreed what are the consequences for you as the seller?

    Ebay:
If he acknowledges that it was sealed, then those "defects" is with the factory and not you. You sold him a sealed product and he didn't complain about a damaged box and that it was open. So clearly this would be Hasbro's fault, not yours. You could also let eBay know that he has a tendency to leave negative feedbacks for every seller he buys from.

    Ebay:
I'm really getting sick of Ebay myself, but there's no other real alternative, unfortunately.

Whenever possible, I try to sell on forums, but you can't match the sheer number of potential buyers on Ebay. I've been selling off my 12" Sideshow and Hot Toys figures, and now find myself in a dispute because a buyer from Australia wanted the cheapest shipping possible - which I gave him, with a tracking number no less, but it's surface, so it's taking forever to reach him. He seems like a good enough guy and everything, and is only opening the dispute as a fail-safe - but I have a feeling it won't reach him in time for his last day to escalate, and then claim the cash. I'll be s.o.l. at that point - if greed gets the better of him after that, he'll get the figure and I'll have the tracking number to prove it, but I really doubt Paypal will do anything once it's "settled". :(

You'd think a real alternative to Ebay and Paypal would have sprung up by now...

Thanks for the replies. I just got the final eBay decision and they ruled in my favor. He will still probably slam me with neg feedback which is bullshit.

PayPal will actually do something about it after the timeframe has elapsed. You have to call them. I had that happen last year and they made it right

I already had this guy on my eBay bidder block list and have never dealt with him, meaning his name has popped up here or elsewhere about being an asshole buyer.

Congrats at least for defying the odds and getting eBay to side with you.

Blocked as well. Had a frustrating time finding the blocked bidders list, can't exactly drill down through any obvious menus that I could see.

Oh really? That's good to hear, thanks.

I would probably have called them if this were to happen but it's nice to know that it worked out for you. Gives me a little more peace of mind! :)
