In ways yes. That mold has done a fair bit in general.

Evasion prime is great, but... One thing I have to give both Siege Prime And this new SS Prime is the truck windows being the same chest windows in robot mode.

I don't mind cheats of faux windows if done correctly like on Evasion Prime and TFP FE Prime, but when the windows are legit, there is something special about that.

Why? This guy shares nothing with Evasion Prime aside from the alt mode. It's a completely original transformation and design.

Downside is that we're back to Optimus having to use a torso twist to transform. Is there a rule that prevents Hastak from just having the shin details be on the underside of the truck, like the G1 toy?

True, but this new SS Prime appears to have the shin details configured onto the back of the truck, similar to the TFP First Edition Prime figure.

I am not bothered by the shin details, as much as I am by faux windows.

Granted, some figures have the Faux windows covering the truck windows, so technically the truck windows do end in the same chest area they should. But I have to admit, having the truck windows on Evasion Prime end up on his elbows is a bit of an eye sore. Luckily they're hidden enough.

    How is that a downside?

Wierdly enough I felt the same for a second. But it's not a real issue. I'm more concerned with the big feet, which is kind of missing one of the standout design elements of Travis Prime's more quarterbackish build.

But of course I'll buy it. Magnificient Truck mode which is arguably superior to... prob all trucks from transformers. It's the first that has the minimal aft section which on normal trucks is mostly skeletal.

I think MP OP V3 uses similar transformation methods.

I just wanna quote this cause it made me think, this is the most Masterpiece like figure of the studio series line. Like in terms of involved transformation and effective presentation with a price point and size it’s astounding.

This set of pictures, right here, explain what I don't like about Siege Optimus. It's too convoluted for a G1 Optimus Prime homage. I mean, if people enjoy him (and I get why they do), that's great, but he didn't work for me. The front wheels having to get around everything and all of the panels shuffling around each other, it annoyed me, greatly.

If I'm going to have a transformation like that, I'd much rather get something like SS38 Optimus who's an impressive figure in both robot and vehicle mode, befitting such a crazy transformation instead of a G1 Optimus homage that has newly added kibbles n' bits to make him just a little "different".

TonTon's review update, this time with correct transformation and with a computer voice over. Overall much better review

    Alexa, review SS-38. :D

Nice review. Nice to see even minor stuff like the smokestacks can move and has articulation. Love how the wheels pull up into the chest and are hidden. No wheels or side truck parts on his arms this go around. So clean in both modes.

That's fantastic that he redid the video since he didn't necessarily need to make another one. Looks like he took the criticism as constructive and this new video is straight and to the point with no fumbling around and with correct transformation. Good job. Also nice with the voice over where he gave an opinion on it needing more paint apps in certain areas. I honestly think I may purchase two of these when they come out.

Wow what a huge improvement, much more professional and informative. The robo voice and poor translation also make it funnier than intended but certainly makes it more entertaining. I can certainly agree that it beeds more paint but I think it was wise of Hasbro to focus all the attention on the front of the figure, the main thing still missing for me are painted wrist arrows but I might do that myself. That transformation is inspired and the truck mode is perfection. Man I can't wait for this figure!

Glad he got the arms properly transformed but I wonder if he just doesn't realize that he can tab the back together or if it's hard to do.

Much better review. The voice thing is funny but entertaining .

I will say, I like the Gundam dice graphic at the beginning of his videos. :)

Also, we got a much better look at the figure in this video. Aside from paint details, it's awesome and I usually end up panel lining, dry brushing, and detailing my figures anyway so looking forward to getting this .
