That arm articulation kills it for me. And the big waist bumper. I'm fine with my Leader class one (even though he's got the same limited arm articulation).

I think he looks pretty good. Hopefully the bumper thing's not as noticeable in-hand.

Oh wow, that looks really good. That bumper is a bit unfortunate, but far from being a dealbreaker. I'm definitely getting him.

I think Ironhide looks fine despite having some weird body proportions going on (Bulky shoulders and upper body compared to the more normal looking lower body)

That said, I do wish that the shoulder articulation on this figure have more range of motion that it seems. From these images, it doesn't seems like this figure have too much going on in terms of shoulder articulation, which I wish isn't the case.

I don't think so. This new Ironhide figure is quite a bit smaller than the original 2007 voyager mold from what it seems, and the only thing that I could see this figure been inspired by the old 2007 mold would be the transformation.

Perhaps there is a bit of mistransformation going on....remember when the first Grimlock video hit, and the TFW boards almost imploded because the guy didn't bother to rotate the arm past eye level? Turns out, they go 360 degrees.

    So let's wait shall we?

The details and sculpting looks fantasic, but the weird proportions and unavoidably small size kinda kills my interest for it

    EDIT:
To be fair, I thought MPM Ironhide looked like the most hideous thing on Earth when the only pics we had of him were crudely mistransformed. Now that I’ve seen him properly transformed he doesn’t look so bad after all.

I guess Ironhide will start to grow on me once we see better pics of him. He might just knock Lockdown from my most wanted list :p

Wait. WHAT? Ironhide is released without us even seeing him first? Well done hasbro, well done! Now please release him everywhere else in the world I’m sick of paying eBay prices for all your shit.

As for the figure itself I’ll have to see it from more angles first since his legs look like they’re too close together or something and the top half is bulky as he should be and yes that bumper waist is weird but I’ve resigned myself to the fact that every SS figure has ONE thing about it that is annoying and aside from that they’re usually perfect.

Can’t wait to complete the 07 cast!!!

    Very nice.

I used to have a movie collection that was all leader class and human alliance. Pretty badass if you like big bots, but SS is killing it with accuracy and scale. SS has brought me back to seriously collecting the movie universe.

He might not be perfectly scaled, but neither is Grimlock, no matter how big you try to make a leader class. IMO, SS is still very impressive on how they're handling scale.

And yes, some SS share some engineering/molding with Premier Edition - it's the movie-specific line from which the broader series spawned. Much like some of the Generations 30th engineering/molding continued into the Prime Wars trilogy. That being said, this is clearly an entirely new figure.

Most likely a new mold but with some shared engineering. Also, the 2007 figure is WAY too large to scale with the SS line.

Isn't that a coincidence, I was just thinking about the delays and why there are no leaks yet for this. This is awesome!

Right, well I so far am all in so I will be grabbing this guy, but something about him looks a little off. To be fair, I felt that way about brawl and he ended up being a pleasant surprise, so I'm going to reserve judgement till we get some reviews. What I will say is I wish that front bumper folded, it looks odd just jutting out of his waist
