Just got mine from HTS; he's fantastic. An ankle tilt would be nice, mostly because his legs are so thick that he's always kinda standing in an A-stance. And while the bumper probably coulda been made to fold up, it's not as bad in person.

In hand, the bumper doesn't bother me at all. What it does do though is highlight his too-small waist/hips area, partially a result of him not carrying his actual wheels in his thighs (and rectified with the upcoming MPM). Still, not horrible, and how this toy simply handles magnitudes better than his previous Voyager incarnations more than makes up for that ultimately minor quibble.

Not sure what else to say that hasn’t been said already, He’s a great figure.

I do wish he had some degree of motion in his ankles and the shoulder kibble, while it folds up cleanly. The extra kibble and they way they arrange makes his upper shoulders look huge from top angles, like he has a pair of over sized football pads on. The bumper is a non issue for me as it doesn’t really look bad in person.

This is still without question the best incarnation in toy form of Ironhide in any mainline movie line.

Crap! Got unlucky with mine from Amazon. The pin holding the roof is in when the part wasn't aligned so his back is crooked in robot mode and the truck mode can't form.

Picked this guy up finally, and he's pretty sweet. I'm sure everyone figured this out, but flipping the shoulders/upper arms upside-down makes him perfect proportionally speaking. (at the expense of some range of motion)

He's really dark in hand. Have some good lightbulbs.
Not sure if I want to try that bumper mod in the Radicon threads.

LEDs would be awesome on this guy.

I'm actually satisfied leaving the bumper alone. It really doesn't stand out as much in hand.

I'm pretty impressed with how good this guy is in person. Everything locks and tabs wonderfully, that torso is such a welcome change of pace after the original 2007 Voyager. The proportions are so good and the size is just right. I was just dumb and didn't understand the angle of the shoulder joints so you don't have to flip anything, it all ends up right where it should.

SS has not had a bad Voyager yet. I love it!

He is an absolutely wonderful figure, but I do recommend buying some silver and gold paint and a tiny brush to add some accents. There are a surprising number of them you can add and they really improve the figure tremendously.

    Nice review!
Is it possible to fold those round things in the wheel arches away to free up the arm range of motion?

THat's absolutely possible, as it's required for transformation, since otherwise they'd get in the way of the actual wheels. However, it's actually quite impressive how very little stuff actually gets in the way of his arms. Especially if you take advantage of the way his shoulder joints are designed, and rotate them around so that the arms hang lower (it's obvious when you have the toy in hand).

Am I missing something in transformation to vehicle mode? The tabs on the doors will not fit into the slots on the legs/pickup bed at all on either side. I can't figure out if it's an alignment issue or the tabs are too thick for the slots.

Yeah, i know they'd get in the way of the wheels, but I didn't know if there was something inside that would get in the way of them in robot mode, or even if folding them away would give an advantage.

    Nope, that area's pretty hollow.

Finally found this guy - I like him, but is there a trick to the shoulder pads? I can't quite get the door flaps tabbed onto his back without flexing plastic. They're horizontally in the right place, but the slots on the doors are about a slot-height too high to actually tab in. I can't seem to tilt the chest pieces in any further either.

Are the hood pieces tabbed in around his collar? The door panels won't tab in properly unless the chest is all snapped together properly.

Whoever designed this guy deserves a serious raise. With a character that had overall design that had no right to work mechanically in reality, they’ve finally given poor Ironhide a figure that’s stunningly accurate and snaps together solidly in both modes. Never thought I’d get a figure this close to his movie appearance since the tiny deluxe, now I’m gratefully shocked with this one. I’m super hopeful for the MPM, but it has a tough act to follow.

I’m betting I’m the one guy on the planet that hopes Hasbro retools this guy with the battle mask only I seem to like, but I’d happily buy more of this mold. Until then, I’ll be checking to see if the head off my Recon Ironhide will fit.
