Didn't see a thread for him yet so here we go. So I ordered the whole first wave of deluxes from HTS. Here we have Crowbar who appeared in Dark of the Moon.

Crowbar is a remold of TLK Deluxe Berserker. There are a few differences between Crowbar and Berserker. Crowbar has a new head, legs, chest, and arms. An improvement that Crowbar has over Berserker is that the door windows are molded in instead of a separate piece that would fall.

Let's get into the negatives. The dreads do get in the way a lot when trying to pose. They feel brittle but nothing that feels like it's going to break soon. Just be careful when you transform him as the dreads move all the way to the back of the vehicle. The transformation is the same as Berserker besides a few minor differences with the feet and the dreads. Besides that no real difference.

He isn't the worst figure from the wave 1 deluxes. I enjoy him and he can get some decent poses. He looks really good with Berserker and other movie decepticons. I'd recommend him if you really are into the movie designs or want a really good looking robot.

 

Since I don’t have any of the Dreads, I was planning on getting SS Crowbar and DotM Crankcase instead of TLK Beserker, so I have at least one version of each Dread mold,
but since Crowbar looks like such a heavy remold of Berserker, I’m conflicted lol.
I might have to get Beserker too

 

Seeing your picture with Crowbar, the new Bumblebee, and DOTM Darksteel it just really shows how far the Transformers line has come in these past seven years. Crowbar looks really good but he'll be so small compared to DOTM and earlier bots. Ever since DOTM came out I loved the Dreads and have been wanting official versions of them but I'm just not sure I want to pay for something that won't fit in my collection.

Sucks that the threads stick out the back of the alt mode like that, but not a huge deal. I have a question regarding the transformation. Is the transformation easier than Beserker? I usually give up when trying to change him in between modes, due to the frustration I get when trying to line up the panels.

 

what are the dreads made of? if it's rubber then i don't see them lasting long.

It's about the same honestly which is unfortunate.

The dreads/threads don't stick out the back of the alt mode - it wasn't transformed correctly.

Damn....damn shame because the sculpt itself is great but that transformation is fiddly which I dislike. Almost merged my Berzerker with a brick

 

I think Crowbar is my most anticipated figure besides or tied with Bumblebee. I love how identical he is to Berserker in alt mode. The Dreads all being the same vehicle made them so cool. I'll just repurpose Berserker as Crankcase.

Don’t get crankcase, he ain’t even close to being accurate to the CG model.

Crowbar just feels better quality than Berserker in hand--it's hard to explain (maybe the plastic is a little heavier?). Mine is a lot easier to peg together than Berserker too--tucking the dreads in being the only fiddly part.

In any event, I'm glad to see some of that part sharing/remolding magic we've seen lately in other lines make it into the movie line.

You know, Crankcase might not be as close to the character model, but for some reason, I feel like his toy looks better. I really don't know why.And this is besides the fact that the clear parts of his head cracked and fell apart on me.

 

I was actually about to say that, next to Berserker and Crowbar, Crankcase just looks so basic and dumpy. He just looks so much less refined.
