One of the things I've done is use a flat head screwdriver and firmly press in while turning a screw out. I've been pretty successful getting screws out that way.

    Stripped screw head

Removing a panel on a deluxe movie BB leg, and the f'n screw head strips out! I have it unscrewed a little bit... might try tweasers to try to turn it the rest.

    I'm pissed, really.

Now I might have a replacement screw, but getting this one out without destroying the leg is problematic enough.

    Any suggestions?

Put a dab of superglue on the head of the screw, let it dry a little, then try unscrewing it. The glue should create a bit of "traction".

Another option is using a flathead screwdriver. Flatheads can go in a little deeper, thus providing you with more traction.

Soldering irons can be good. The heated screw will soften the surrounding plastic a little, making it easy to pick out with pliers or tweezers. But be careful. You don't want to heat the screw up too much.

You can also try a rubber band on the head of the screw. It allows the screwdriver to grip and helps fill the space, allowing you to unscrew it (usually).
