I've seen that several times (never gets old). The entire fight is on youtube somewhere, seek that out if you liked the end bit.

Old fo so, but still impressive to me because I've never been able to parry for shit. It pisses me off...my friend that played SF with me back home got to practice a lot more when he went off to college, played lots of other people, so he got really good at the whole parrying thing somehow, and that slight edge alone always left him winning more rounds than me after he came back. I really wish I could get that crap down. I wouldn't mind losing to him if he wasn't such an arrogant bastard about it, but he's really cocky, yes, even about fucking video game wins. I know for sure the only thing that kept me from beating him after he came back was all his damn parrying. If I could at least counter with the same it'd be even you know?

Oh well, I don't really have the time to practice that crap, nor do I even have anyone else to practice playing against. You can feel like a pro against the CPU but turn out to be total shit once you face an actual person you know?

    Very impressive indeed.

I also never got the hang of the more technical stuff in Street Fighter. I usually stuck to the big guys. More power = less hitting necessary = fight ends sooner. I'm not paid by the hour you know.

Yep definately a classic clip. Daigo (the guy who did that) has supposedly retired from most game comps to persue mahjong tourneys...at least that's what they say over at srk.

I was always a fan of sfa2, and I'm not sure if parrying was in it, but it had something like it, and I never figured out how to use it, but sometimes would get lucky and do it by accident.

I believe you mean Alpha Countering. Alpha/Zero series had that rather than parrying. Basically, for the expense of part of your super meter, if you do the command for an alpha counter at the exact time you're hit, you don't take any damage and instead hit your opponent with a special, high damage attack.

Thats probably becasue Mahjong is played by more people and therefore = more prize money.

If thats the video I'm thinking (can't be bothered with the link) then yeah, suprb SF3 action. Which makes me regret not having a copy of SF3 on my PS2... which is where my SF pad lives.

But I think I have a copy of SF3 on my DC, with a 6 button arcade stick... hmm... perhaps its a time for the DC to come out and play?

I'll stick to my Alpha Anthology playing Fei Long vs CPU, thank you. Parry is nice but I tried it and can't for the life of me nail it down.
