today my monitor and or my pc is acting very strange i lean towards my monitor, as it is displaying what it should also it is showing a transparent red on top of everything and lines going across it in a slightly brighter shade of red so any ideas what is causing it i have made plans to replace my monitor i suspect its going/gone bad id appreciate any help you all can give
google brought up: Red tint on monitor? - Tech Support Forum All i can personally suggest is make sure all cables are connected perfectly and if possible make sure your video card is seated correctly, but im no expert in the field.
its about 3 1/2 years old and a tube also if the pc is off and i leave the monitor off i get a flash of red just before the message that there is no signal that one gets with a monitor turned on and a pc turned off
Honestly, It sounds like your monitor is starting to die. Most older tubes will start showing problems after a few years with normal use. For trobleshooting try removing and reinserting all the cables,Video card and graphics card if you have one. You can also try changing the resolution, refresh rate and colors.
I figured that but id rather wait and do a monitor swap and see if that is rather than waste $50 + if thats all it needs as suddenly as the redness appeared it is gone and my monitor is normal again. very strange eh!
