MODS: Wasn't sure if this was the right forum, figured as it's ebay related it might be? If not it's my first mis-placed thread, but my apologies anyway.

Just logged into ebay, my feedback score has jumped by 29 since yesterday! I haven't received any feedback to account for this though, it's not duplicate feedback being counted either, as that would shoot it up much more.

The new rules etc. kicked in yesterday, but I can't figure out why this has happened

Anyone else had this happen, or can shed some light on it?

It's probably something really obvious, but it's late here, I had a bad day at work, and I've had a couple of cheeky red wines :drunk

EDIT: Five minutes after posting this, and I think I've figured it out! I think it's duplicate feedback I've got in the last 12 months. If that's the case, I didn't know they were including such a thing in these changes, surely keeping it to one feedback per member dealt with is easier to see at a glance, saves searching through someone's feedback (VIZ TOP TIP: Always have a look though!).

This is one of the many eBay feedback changes that'll be taking place this month: Feedback from the same user is counted each time when it's separated by something like 1 week.

Also, the no Neg's & Neutral's for bidders things starts on the 19th apparently.

Lastly, something I don't remember being announced initially with all the other feedback changes, eBay is removing the ability to mutually remove feedback.

    "We're making too much money"
    "Too much money, eh?"
"What if we make it a nightmare to use, really fuck with them?"
"I love it! When can it start?"
    "May good for you?"

    Ebay:
yeah this is bad since I had my first bad buyer the other day
Gave him over a month to pay and then hit him with two negs. I hate how they can just give you negatives back though for revenge. this guy got his items, I got no money!!!!!!!

Oddly, your feedback percentage changes depending on your account viewed from ebay.com & ebay.co.uk. The former has you at 99.9% & 4 negs(!). The latter has you indeed at 99.4%, but doesn't provide the same neg summary.

The only thing I noticed is if you play around with the numbers and and grade your feedback like an American SAT exam you do get 99.4%. This essentially equates to neutrals = -1 and negatives = -2. I sure hope that gets changed for you UK guys.

    Ebay:
    about the new feedback policy

    so lemme get this straight...

    scenario 1
    buyer pays.
    seller ships.
    buyer receives item.
buyer wants to be prickatron and leaves me a negative despite the item being packaged well and shipped promptly.
    = i am fuxored?

    that doesn't seem right....

    scenario 2
    auction ends.
    buy never pays.
= seller can't leave negative or neutral?

am i understanding this right? double-u tee eff?

    ---

    seems to be:
obvious ploy that favors the bidders and encourages them to bid without fear of ever receiving a negative. double-u tee eff?

    ---

    question:
how do i know how to avoid deadbeat buyers if they have no negatives or neutrals...

    ---

maybe i am missing something here...

    - KO

*sorry for being slightly off-topic in my reply*

I dont think there is anyway to figure it out, touch wood I've never had too many a-holes buy from me, one of my negs was totally my fault but the other 2 were from a couple of people who wanted something for nothing, as with everything the few ruin it for the many
