I'm thinking about buying the first two seasons and I just would like to know your opinions on the story? Does it compare well to a well-written story like Beast Wars? I hear good things about it but I'm very cheap with my money so I wanna make sure its worth it.

Oh yeah. Unfortunately, the best of the story kicks in during Season 3, but Seasons 1 and 2 are still great.

Good lord yes! While season one is good, it gets really good by season 2. Its the most interesting take on the transformers universe in years. Unlearn what you have learned, go in with an open mind and I guarantee you will enjoy it, even if you aren't convinced by the art style.

Yeah, I want to get season three, but I guess it hasn't been released yet. Also, is transform and roll out part of season 1?

All three seasons of Animated have awesome stories. Season 1 is pretty good, but Seasons 2 and 3 are amazing. Season 4 also looked to be pretty badass, but unfortunately we never got that. :(
    My favorite TF series.

No, it was sold as a separate DVD. The Season 1 DVD is from "Home Is Where the Spark Is" to "Megatron Rising". Season 2 is "The Elite Guard" to "A Bridge Too Close".

So there was supposed to be a season 4? Wouldn't that mean that season 3's ending wouldn't close the series?
This series sounds like it was pretty damn good. I may have to buy. Does anyone know when season 3 is gonna be released

The Season 3 ending still closes the series quite nicely.

Season 3 closes it out nicely.

Unfortunately, due to Cartoon Network being Cartoon Network, we probably won't be getting a DVD release of Season 3. Best to watch the episodes on YouTube or something.

From what I've heard and seen, Animated is a pretty good series storywise.
At the very least, Sari's a decent character despite being a human sidekick.

I haven't watched much of Prime, but TF: Animated is easily the best written show since beast wars.

Second best-written Transformers show after Beast Wars. Absolutely worth watching.

Chiming in to say it's really good (to my mind Prime has probably eclipsed it, but it's close run as the best TF show made since forever). Sad we probably won't see season 3 make it to shelves.

If you're into G1 then there's tons of references too - from the obvious to the really obscure. It can be fun to skip through crowd scenes, and check out the backgrounds.

I'd say the story is the only reason to watch it the rest is your run of the mill low budget stuff.
