I was wondering if anyone has had troubles with old/unused Transformers becoming stuck in position and unable to transform? This happend to me earlier with my Vortex and I was afraid to use excess force for fear of snapping his friggin' legs off. If so how do you remedy this?

I didn't mean that it was litteraly sticky as if something was spilled on it. I've never taken any of my collection apart but I think I'll give it a try.

man, i totally thought this topic would be about something else.....

but just be careful with it....you may try cleaning it, it could possibly just be old and stuck...and then you're only options are lighting it on fire or selling it....

Yeah, you and me both! Anyhow, try using hot water at first, that's a good solvent that is harmless to the toy.

    eewwwwww..... :p

if the screws are in good condition then there's probably not much problem, just separate the pieces, clean and put it together.

Happened to my G1 Darkwing. He's been a jet for over a decade.

For some of them, if you're gentle they'll loosen up. For others, like my G1 Countdown, they're pretty much done. Countdown's been a rocket base for so long, it's a huge task to get the launch tower to open out into the full runway these days. My solution is drastic, but I plan to get a junker with the part intact and see if I can't swap a few parts out and get one 100% working Countdown out of the deal.

I'd try disassembly first, then hot water maybe with a little alcohol mixed in, but not enough to harm the paint.

When you dissasemble Transformer parts, be carefull of flying springs if there are some in that part. I took a G1 Optimus Prime arm apart and the shoulder spring flew out, took me a week to find it. Also try dissasembling one part at a time. If you take both arms apart, you can get confused with the internal workings.

I feel your pain. None of my Action Masters will transform either, dammit.
