I just thought about this after the countless number of CHUG naming threads I have been seeing. I think we need some stickies in this thread to avoid the constant repetitive threads we always see. I recommend the following two threads that should always be stickied: 1- What is CHUG, can we think of better name for it? 2- What figures are missing from the "Classics line" I see one of these threads like every two weeks. Shit, I have started threads on #2 being a newbie and all. What other threads do you think we need stickied with this types of repetitive information?
You both could always ignore the threads. I mean, if I asked you without looking what the stickied threads were, there is no way you can tell me off the top of your head.
YES. Yes yes yes yes. Please, and then maybe we can actually close the shizload of repeat threads on that topic.
Screw the people who don't look at stickies. Let's have stickies for the people who would look at them. I've thought since I first came here that it is a shame there are no stickies. In a lot of communities they help keep noobs from asking repetitive questions and they act as a handy link reference for old hats as well.
While I think this is a wonderful idea, it sadly isn't one of those "if you build it, they will come" kind of deal. People would actually have to, ya know, READ the stickies for it to work *sigh* if only... I applaude the effort though Alucard.
I was thinking we needed a "gripes with hasbro thread" hopefully eliminatibg all the "wheres mirage" threads, or the"why hasn't hasbro made this?"
To be fair, it's getting a bit out of hand. I think more stickies or "master threads" with merged content would help eliminate a lot of the redundancies.
What can be done is that you can have one sticky thread called "Commonly asked questions. READ BEFORE STARTING A THREAD!" That way, people can read the first post (which should have a list of common questions and links to their answers).
i agree. we should have stickies. at least it'll help navigate to an answer easier or show that's the question's been asked a 100000000000000000x(i am not counting all those zeros). here check out my new "CHUG" thread HERE
As much as I agree to having some stickies, I have seen some boards with stickies taking half of the first page and it gets annoying scrolling halfway to see the first topics. It would be "constructively ideal" for people to link to the threads or maybe have a mod merge them than have people constantly complain. Topics can be ignored. Also a link to frequently asked questions is a good idea.
there is only a handful of things to talk about so I feel there isnt much that can be done. I dont ind answering a new guy"s question even if I've answered it before.
