Customs: sticky paint?

    i used three different paints on something the other night and 2 out of the 3 ended up bing tacky 48 hours later

    krylon and modelmaster were crap

    and the one tamaiya color i used is perfection

    Are those enamels? Maybe they need a couple more days to cure?

    Enamels have issues on some rubbery or oily plastics, while acrylics don't.

    i have used these brands and one of the actaul cans multiple times before, maybe didnt prep enough

    if you used enamels or spray paint and it's soft plastic, that's why. You need to use acrylics on those.

    nope not soft stuff its a rts tracks that im painting into a runabout

    wiped him down with alchol dissassembled then painted let it set for 2 days and went to put it backtogether and noticeds its all tacky (not leaving finger prints though)

    Did you prime the figure?

    Also, did you wash it in soap and warm water aside from wiping it down with alcohol?

    I figured out my problem.......
    I decided to strip it back down and that's when I realized apparently I shalacked on the paint. It was way to thick!

    Apparently I drank more than I thought. But thanks of all the input guys

    I've had the same problem before with a few certain spray paints. But once a clear finish is applied, it makes it perfect.
