Weird, I mean I'm not the biggest Aerosmith fan but this may not be good at all...

Course front men have left big name bands and done really well...Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Ozzy Osbourne, Sting, Roger Hodgeson, John Lennon, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton...so it's not improbable he may make it on his own

Aerosmith is a good band, but like all good bands before them, some break apart and its members go their own separate ways, or some stick together until they can no longer play.

So if Steven Tyler goes off to do his own solo career, let him do so. He might succeed on his own, or he might flop and come back to Aerosmith, since it appears that the rest of the band members are going to keep at it with or without him.

Such is the life of a band.

He should have a cameo in The Hobbit as Arwen's obnoxious uncle. He could've played her dad if Agent Smith hadn't already filled the role.

Geez, I wouldn't want to be the singer who'd eventually be known as 'the dude who replaced Steven Tyler for one album' :lol

A bit like when Blaze Bailey recorded two albums during Bruce Dickinson's short Iron Maiden departure

Probably hardcore fans, but I doubt anyone else. I know I don't give a shit, their last fews albums have been terrible.

I dunno, at this point they've been together for so long that I don't really see one surviving without the other. This isn't like Blink 182 breaking up to pursue different interests. Aerosmith is the boat, and it's probably in all of the band members interest to keep it sailing.

Tyler IS Aerosmith. Not that he is irreplacable, it is just that you can't have one with out the other.
Sure they may try, but I can't imagine that they will be nearly as popular.

Take KISS for example. KISS can survive without Freeley or Chriss, but take Simmons or Stanely out, you have got a deal breaker...

Yep, Nine Lives was their last really great album. They should have called it quits then.

Remember, Joe Perry left in the 80's. He came back.

I dunno, I think even in death the Rolling Stones will still be playing together.

At least the Beatles knew when to call it quits. The Stones post-Voodoo Lounge is nothing short than terrible. Though I think Let It Bleed was their peak (and perfect album), and was in 1969.
