Oh damnit, Gerber was so awesome on titles like Howard the Duck and Man-Thing. And he was doing a current story for DC that I guess will be finished by someone who isn't Steve Gerber...man.
Obit from Gerber's close friend: http://www.newsfromme.com/archives/2008_02_11.html#014809 Specifically, Gerber was story editor on Season 3, although he didn't write any episodes himself. He also wrote one of my all-time favorite GI Joe episodes: "There's No Place Like Springfield" where Shipwreck gets knocked unconscious during a rescue op and wakes up several years later to a world where Cobra has been defeated and he's got a wife and kid. It blew my mind when I saw it, and then it ended on a cliffhanger and I don't think I slept at all that night anticipating how it would end in the next episode.
I remember that episode quite well, I loved it. Too bad though, I never like seeing this kind of headline.
rest in peace, i thank you for giving me an awesome childhood and something to grow up with, good bye Steve Gerber
Sorry for my ignorance but was transformers co-created by americans and japanese people? And the news is very sad. I loved G1 all the way.
