    Sad.

But I guess he'll start wearing a friggin' helmet.

Best way to spread your knowledge around is to not wear a helmet. That way, everyone can get a piece of your brains when they get splattered across the concrete!

My Dad always said, "The 3 best days of a motorcyclist's life are the day he buys it, the day he gets out of the emergency room and the day he sells it."

Apparently, Bill Cowher warned Ben a month ago about wearing the helmet when he rides that thing. Guess Ben was being stubborn. Hope he gets out of this okay AND if he does, that his teammates whip his ass for being wreckless.

PA has no helmet laws, so if the state allows morons to ride sans protection, then they are just as foolish with a person's life as the person themself.

    Ridiculous. He could've been killed.

I'm suprised his coach even let him ride around on a motorcycle. Lots of teams have rules against that for this exact reason.

He wears a helmet on the field, but can't be bothered to do so on his motorcycle? I don't want him to be seriously injured, but I won't feel bad for him if he is.

It hasn't been confirmed whether or not he was wearing a helmet.

read again.. He is reported to noth have been wearing one and stated he prefers riding without one.. So 99% likely he wasn't wearing one.

Saw it on the news a little bit ago.

It was confirmed that he wasn't wearing a helmet. He's been warned by other players that he should get rid of the bike or it'll probably affect his career. Depending on his injuries, it just might.

I'm curious as to who's fault the accident was. nine times out of 10 it's the car's fault. People seem to look right through motorcycles. It's like if something isn't a car or a truck, it simply doesn't register in ther brain.

My uncle still complains that the helmet didn't do him a bit of good. Next month they take the pin out of his thigh, so they can finally replace that knee that isn't healing.

Yep, flipping over your handlebars at 40mph with a helmet or without a helmet is like wearing a seatbelt. It could help or could prove completely useless.

Dumbass. I mean, i hope he's okay... but did he learn absolutely NOTHING from what happened to Kellen Winslow last year? Sure Winslow was being a retard and trying to do tricks... but damn, he crashed and missed a whole year if not more. This is even worse... I really hope Ben is able to recover. I hate the steelers, and this could be good news for the Browns... but still, don't wish harm on the guy.

Apparently he's got a bunch of broken bones in his face, but the docs say his brain, spine, and chest are ok. It seems no charges will be filed at this time.

I hope that doesn't deflate all you Steeler haters out there too much.......

Eh, that's more poor sportsmanship than anything. I'm a Denver fan, and I didn't like losing in the AFCC game like we did, and I don't like the idea of playing Pitt early in the season, but at the same time I don't see any gain out of something like this. I'd rather my team beat another team straight up, and not get an advantage because someone was hurt off the field, especially like this. A life threatening accident, no matter how stupid the people involved were acting, puts a mere game in perspective.

P.T.I. on ESPN also reported that his knees slammed into the concrete and got pretty messed up in the accident.
