One of DC's most underrated, coolest and most underappreciated heroes ever.

He's one of my fave DC characters since i read him in 92's issues of Superman and thought he was a neat character and John Henry Irons is such a genius.

Who thinks he could be DC's answer to Iron Man including Irons being almost like Tony Stark?

He was being developed as a sort of poor man's Iron Man during Morrison's JLA run, but sadly, no other writer since Morrison has shown any interest in developing him afterwards. I agree he had potential as the League's engineer and weapons specialist.

But do you think he's underappreciated? and that Irons is almost as smart as Stark?

In fact in DC vs. Marvel they teamed up briefly and even in the cards series of DC vs. Marvel they even fought which was a logical fight no doubt.

I'm not sure you can say he's under appreciated considering he's not really been able to sustain his popularity outside of the few years after Reign of the Supermen compared to say Superboy. He shows up every once in a while, and has shown up in the New 52 courtesy of Morrison. As for smarts, I don't think he's really in Stark's range. his armors have always been simpler, and relied more on typical brute strength and projectile weaponry vs the more complicated technology Stark has been building into his armor for the last few decades.

I like the character. I saw him as a black Ironman but not a poor man. He's got more strength than Stark outside the suit, too like his namesake.

I liked what we saw of him Action, so hopefully we'll see more of him in either of the Superman books.

    He was great in 52.

My favorite DC character next to Batman and Superman (and that's only because they're so legendary.) And I do agree that he's underappreciated. His origin was probably a blessing and a curse. His connection to Superman helped bring him attention, but at the same time forever kept him in the original Man of Steel's shadow.

He should not be unappreciated. It is my belief he can rival Batman if the two of them were to compete.

I think Bruce Timm should do an animated movie on him, that would be awesome you know.
