Got a update from First4Figures on the highly anticipated Baroness & Ravage statue.

Finally a word on a street release, check out the email:

    heres a snippet:

    >>Why is it taking so long?
It was a lack of retailer support. However, we have never actually put up the baroness and ravage model on our site at all. The images that are on the internet are actually were not authorized by us, but the retailers put it up anyways. There still hasn't been a strong demand for this, but like you, we want to see this go to production.

    >>Are the pictures we saw on the net still deadon?
    >>Has the figure been changed from its first appearance? updated, downgraded?
Will be similar, though we intend to change ravage's pose slightly to give a more pulling on his chain pose.

    >>When should we expect to welcome the statue home?
    >>Doesn’t have to be exact day amd time, however if i can see a Christmas >>release would be great!
    Q1 2008.

The email was quite long so i only posted the interesting bit.

Sooo go and preorder this baby,

    that be all folks!

I wish they would release the Beast Wars Megatron vs. Rhinox Battlefield statue I designed for them a couple of years ago.

Are they still even operating? They announced like a freaking billion statues when they got the license and never released anything. Well at least they're better than those terrible Palidises ones.

They have put out a lot of non-TF stuff. I think they had problems selling the Battlefield line. And if they are talking about releasing some stuff soon I would guess that their license expires soon as well.

Not too thrilled about waiting even longer for my preorder from BBTS, but at least I'm not in the dark anymore, and wondering if this is coming out soon or not.

Please keep us updated about this statue, Rquiem. :)

It's an interesting statue but I'm not sure why Ravage doesn't just turn around and tear the Baroness apart.

What's the going price/scale of that thing? I normally don't do statues, but that one caught my interests.

Don't know about scale, but BBTS has it for $184. Plus shipping, of course.

I'll just go buy a G1 Ravage, 25th Baroness and a long chain and call it done with.

Looks great, I just wish they made it plastic to be more affordable like the Marvel statues that interpret comic covers in 3D (Fantastic 4#1, Spiderman vs. Green goblin, Avengers vs. Galactus) which sold for $15!

I know they released the Optimus vs. Megatron Battlefield statue. I'm pretty sure they released at least *some* of their busts but I can't say for sure.

The problem with F4F is that they have a really screwy license. I can't remember the details but they can only release stuff domestically in the US if they release the same amount across the pond in the UK. Something like that.

I know this was probably discussed ad nauseam when this statue (and the comic on which it is based) first appeared.... but that was before I got back into collecting Transformers, so can someone explain to me why Ravage has more canine-looking than feline-looking features in this maquette?

Is it that way in the comic as well? Has he been changed from a cat to a wolf to fit better in the G.I. Joe universe?

Sorry if this is an ignorant or noobish question, I've just always wondered any time I've seen photos of this thing.

There's no plot point in the story that states that Ravage is now a canine.

Chalk it up to artistic styling.
Look at any episode of G1, sometimes Ravage looks very much like a dog.
