I know there's been speculation for a while that Hasbro is making WAY to many deluxe BB's this time. While this did seem very possible, I thought I'd wait until the movie actually opened to draw conclusions (with both of the previous movies toy demand has gone up significantly after opening day).

We're now about two weeks out and the movie is doing extremely well. I was just at Meyers and saw a pretty picked over deluxe section (almost no deluxes). They had a DOTM end cap up which had somewhere between 9-12 BB (sumo bee as I call him), 1 Roadbuster, 1 Crankcase and nothing else.

I think it's probably safe to say BB is THE new DOTM shelf warmer.

Normally, I'd disagree, but yeah. Four deluxe bumblebees (DOTM, Nitro, Cannon repaint at Target and TFTM repaint at Wal-Mart) in a month is too many, especially with the case ratios.

Add in Leader Bumblebee, Legion Bumblebee, Cyberverse playset Bumblebee, HA Bumblebee, etc., and we're genuinely swimming in Bumblebees this time.

Are you certain that BB isn't moving. Once the later waves without movie characters come out the BB's will be gone and you'll be stuck with a bunch of *insert random character here*.

I'd wait to judge. I don't think it's a matter of shelfwarming, Nitro Bumblebee comes 3 per case of 8.

    Yeah, FOUR years ago.

I would love for someone to compile a comprehensive list of every damn Bee we have got since his yellow movie inception. I would think the server overload from trying to load a list like that would cause the site to crash.

12 deluxe bumblebees and 2 other figures. It didn't seem like he was moving. It's always possible there's another explanation, but I have been seeing quite a bit of BB at other stores as well as I hunt around for Leader Ironhide and Laserbeak.

Ah those were the days. I remember getting yelled at in the NJ sightings for buying both Concept Bee's a particular Target had. I was called scalper, eventhough both of those bees are still in my collection.

I agree that Bee is the DOTM shelfwarmer. The nitro one seems less common then the "default" version in my area at least.

I think one problem may be that Bee wasn't the hero of the movie this time, Optimus was by far. Maybe kids want Optimus more, eventhough his DOTM toys are not as good as ROTF.

I don't think I've seen Nitro BB here yet. I saw the rest of wave 3 once (and didn't buy Lazerbeak because I hadn't seen the movie yet- I think the character is cooler than the toy- so now I want him).

Funny thing is when I was in Denver a month ago they were all over the place.

As far as the scalper thing, people around here do seem to see scalpers everywhere. I don't deny they exist (especially where the concept camero BB was concerned back in 07), but I'm not convinced they're nearly as prevalent as you'd think reading these boards.

BB is kind of weird in my parts. In some stores stock is moving pretty fast and there's few Bees, regular or Nitro that hang around the shelves. At Walmart you're just swimming with Bees. HOWEVER....I would argue that THE DOTM shelfwarmer is voyager Optimus. EVERY store I've been to have a ton of these unsold.

Sentinel isn't hard to find here (so far- I know he's only in wave 1 so far- be we aren't even getting the later waves yet).

I have yet to see Leader Ironhide (which is killing me because I got a mildly defective one from TRU.com I'd like to exchange ii TRU ever actually gets any).

I hope kids start buying all the bb's so we get new stuff put on the shelves quick. For each non bb I find I probably find around two bb's.
