They had 4 by that time. The only question on that screen was where the heck did they found the fifth. But probably the quy who wrote the script didnt knew how to count
But the 4 they had were not removed from their captives or placed in the combat-icons So they shouldn't have been able to power up
The fact that it wasnt shown on screen doesnt mean it didnt happen. There is lots of things that are not shown on screen but did happen.
Also mentioned in the dialogue that Starscream wasn't given anyone a power converter until they had all five
THIS. Storily, it means they either got a 5th that wasn't shown on-screen, or they did with just 4, cause the writers messed up.
I think it's a combination of knowing exactly who he was looking for _and_ only being able to watch/control five of them at a time. It's not like they could run to Megatron for help so all he had to do was stall them if they turned on him.
The full story behind this is that, in the original draft of the script, the Stunticons were not part of the episode, and the missing fifth absorber was key to the plot. Rather than being blindsided by Menasor, Bruticus declared that, since he had fulfilled the extent of his bargain with Starscream and helped him defeat Megatron, that was it - he was off to Cybertron get his revenge for being imprisoned there (setting up the next episode more directly). Upon trying to leave, however, Bruticus promptly ran out of energy thanks to the Combaticons having been unable to re-energize, and crashed back to Earth. Seems that they had to wedge the Stunticons into the episode at the last minute to promote the toys, and this got lost.
Well think about it, if you ran out of options and solutions, like at any war, you want to go all out and that's when you unleash you're strongest warriors so you could win
Fantastic info man I love learning new things thank you so much Don't think I'm doubting you because I truly ain't just asking if there's a source for this in case I ever quote your information and somebody asked me to back it up
Dont give doesnt equal, didnt remove though. Brawl points directly that Starscream didnt gave them the energy absorbers, before Starscream replies that he doesnt want to play favourites. He might well have them already removed and just hoged them just in case. Wow! As more wrapped up as this sounds, the opening schene of the Revenge of Bruticus, with Starscream approaching his wits end and getting a nervous breakdown is one of my favourites in the entire series.
from what I remember Jazz and Cliffjumper we're stated to not have been harmed at all during the time they were captives,so that at least make me think he didn't remove them but even if you're right and he was hugging them it still doesn't explain how the Combaticons we're powering up at that energy plant It was funny
Erhm....He installed them off screen? The only question is where the heck did they found the 5th. The only statement regarding their condition comes from Optimus: "Jazz and Cliffjumper appear to be safe" is the exact quote. The fact that the combaticons were online without having the absorbers is explaining the 'safe' part.
Oh, that still happens! Even in the original version, after Bruticus crashes, Megatron orders Starscream and the Combaticons taken off the asteroid by Astrotrain, same as in the finished ep!
I don't buy it It just seems a The whole thing about the absorbers was forgotten And now I know that was actually the case
I dont know, putting Autobots in the decepticon group, or a combiner standing next to his robot mode limbs? Or dead guys who just bought it appear in the next scene?
