What do you think would happen if Starscream were to take over in one of the movies?
Maybe things would go better. Or not.
We've witnessed his leadership in TRANSFORMERS: Ghosts Of Yesterday and TRANSFORMERS: The Veiled Threat. He was nearly as dangerous as Megatron was and nearly as intimidating.
He was the leader through most of the first movie.
And in the prequel novel. He... didn't do that great a job.
And he was the leader in the 2nd. Starscream took command while his master was dropped in the sea.
u forgot The Reign of Starscream
They would still lose.
Even though starscream is my favorite character he isn't suited to be the leader
He did a fair bit better than Megatron. Notice how everyone didn't die while Starscream was in charge.
I agree with that though. He freakin' got himself killed because of his boasting, not knowing when to shut his mouth. So don't blame Sam, blame Starscream.
Helps they hadn't engaged the Autobots yet
Everything that happened in the first film was a result of Starscream. Megatron didn't do anything but rampage. All the plotting was done by Starscream.
Let's compare what they got done.
Starscream directed Decepticon operations on Earth as they infiltrated humanity. Sending Decepticons to hack human military networks to locate Sam and the glasses which led to Megatron and the Allspark.
Megatron led the battle of mission city where his plan didn't seem to go further than blow things up. This resulted in the death of most the Decepticons. Starscream was smart enough to survive.
ROTF was planned by the Fallen but Megatron was the one who decided how the plan would be carried out. Megatron decided to use Alice to chase Sam out of the University where he was captured. Then Megatron used Grindor and Starscream's help to defeat Optimus however it was mere luck this plan didn't end with them all dead. It's uncertain whether using the humans to find Sam was Megatron or the Fallen's idea. Then just like mission city, the Decepticons were a disorganized mess during the battle for the Harvester. This, yet again, resulted in the deaths of most the Decepticons with only Starscream and this time Megatron escaping.
Megatron only started to seem fit to lead in DOTM planning Operation Pillar. However none of it would have been possible without Soundwave's manipulation of space programs and gaining human allies. Megatron manipulated events so Optimus found the Ark and used the Matrix to revive Sentinel. Megatron sent the Dreads to disorganize the Autobots, allowing Sentinel to steal back his Pillars and escape. This allowed the Decepticons to transport an army they were secretly gathering on the moon to transport directly onto Earth. Then they invaded several cities and other locations to set up the Pillars. It is uncertain if he had contact with any of them. However it is certain that he kept all his lieutenants in Chicago instead of spreading them out to command the different Decepticon invasions around the globe. However then things started to not go his way so he sulked through an entire battle then ruined the entire Decepticon victory just to get rid of Sentinel. Both Megatron and Starscream died during the battle.
So in the end, I think Megatron was better. While at least half the credit for ROTF has to go to the Fallen, the DOTM plot was definitely more complicated than what Starscream did in TF1.
Getting his clock cleaned seems to happen to him a lot due to his arrogance and faulty tactics.
If he acted anything like he did in The Reign of Starscream, I would be very, very happy!
Starscream was leader in the first movie until megatron was revived and he was leader at the start of the second movie before megatron was revived
In the first film, starscream never really did much when megatron was frozen, there was a few deepticons scattered all over earth, they seemed to reliant on megatron to get things moving, things only started to get moving when megatron was unfrozen, I do think starscream should have got things going much quicker, even though finding the location of megatron was still a hard one
And in the sequel the decepticons did not even plan to attack earth, they were just sitting there rudderless without megatron with the hatch-lings dying, even with the fallen there, they still did nothing until megatron was resurrected. And when megatron did return, megatron captured Sam, got the information, and ambushed optimus and killed him. I do not think optimus would have killed megatron in a one on one battle so quickly, because of how hard it was to damage megatron because of the way megatron is built
So when starscream was in-charge, they never really did much, and starscream never really had the respect that megatron had, even with half his face missing, megatron was always plotting in how to get the pillars and help rebuild cybertron. So starscream seemed very inexperience in how to lead the decepticons, that megatron is so used to be doing
then come gavatron the new leader of deceticons
and staracream be kill by galavtron
The Decepticons would still all die and somehow come back from the dead, as they did when Megatron was the leader.
I as well.
Hell they should have had Starscream take Megatron's place in ROTF as the Fallen's lackey but off course merchandising dictates that we need a Megatron.
At the end of ROTF they could have had the Megatron resurrection scene and him reclaiming his throne and kicking the crap out of Starscream.
