I love the one I have. not paying a hundred dollars for a repaint of it. I'm fine with paying 40.

Masterpiece. Sure it costs twice as much, but I'd rather pay $100 for something that looks impressive, instead of $45 for something that looks like cheap plastic ass. It's an incredible mold, and it deserves an incredible paint job.

I am going with just the leader now, that may change though when we see images of the actual toy for the Japanese release.

leader class release doesnt look like cheap plastic ass. it just doesnt photograph well. in photos, the colors look brighter than they really are in person. Hell, when it comes to plastics alone, it's higher quality material than any of the other figures in the line, and the colors look really, really nice.

No, ROTF Leader Starscream isn't a masterpiece, not in the traditional sense.

He's more intricate than MP Prime. his alt mode is better executed than MP prime's. (No legs sticking out the back, visible from every single angle plain as day).

he and ROTF prime fit in the line just fine.

I agree. Prime needs a few tweaks but Screamer is there now.

I have not seen him in person so I won't disagree with you, except to say that 1.) the metallic paints Takara-Tomy uses will undoubtedly bring the mold to a whole new level (if Buster Prime is any indication), and 2.) even if the plastic on the Hasbro version isn't as bad as it looks in photos, the mishmash of colors is still downright bizarre.

That's not what the question is. The question is will you be buying the Hasbro release, or the Takara-Tomy release. I wonder how many other people have misunderstood this poll.

I held leader Starscream in hand, so I can agree that his colors are much better in person. However, it's still going to cost me around 80 euros to import the guy, so I might as well go for the much nicer looking option, if only because I always favored the TF1 look for him anyways.

Yeah, he looks terrible there. some of the plastic colors on that one are different on the final, and it's even missing paint applications.

here's a correct-color photo of my leader class starscream:

Atta-boy :thumbs2:  Hope this movie masterpiece series gets a lot of love in Japan, or else Takara won't keep it up.

I think it may be a mistake for fans to trash the US version based on pictures, and then laud the Japanese version based on one relatively small picture. At least hold onto your money till a review or something rolls in, or at least lots of big high res pics.

That said, I'm CRAZY about this design, my US Screamer should arrive tomorrow, and if I love him enough, and the Japanese version is pretty enough and comes with anything extra...well, stranger things have happened.

I just got my Leader Class Starscream today.

Without having a Masterpiece Movie Starscream, it's impossible to judge. between the two.

That being said, the regular leader is really a spectacular figure, both in terms of engineering and paint applications. He's right up there with Leader Prime in terms of awesomeness.

I think you'd probably be happy with either figure, but I know for me personally I'm fine with the regular Leader and some paint.

I like neither of them but if I had to choose it will be the Hasbro leader class.
