While in robot mode, is it supposed to be rightside up or upside down?

I saw the MP version have it upside down, but other pictures show it rightside up.

I prefer that it is rightside up in robot mode, but I wanted to know if there was an acccepted version.

The reason I want to know is because I'm adding some things to my Classics Starscream.

my G1 seekers have their symbols right-side up. their instuctions said the same. *shrugs* the cartoon showed them upside down. I would say that going by real jet deco they should be upside down, but honestly I like them better rightside up, so just do it however you want.

I think accurate is upside-down.... that's how most of the box pictures show them, it seems. Personally I think they look ridiculous that way, both in jet and robot mode.... so I put them rightside-up. That's one reason I'm very glad MP Starscream came with faction STICKERS, instead of having them painted on.

    Yes. Upside-down = correct.

    Personally, I can't stand them right-side-up.

    Cartoon showed them upside down.

all toy instructions showed right side up.

Take a good long look at the Cartoon and actual Toy designs some time. compare closely. Some of the most popular characters have such massive divergences in their animation models. Prime has no wheels in Robot mode, Jazz has no doors, Ironhide and Ratchet are not even remotely close.... and lastely Megatron is missing his trigger penis.

I think Soundwave is about the only guy from 84 that looked enough like the toy to qualify as being "show accurate" by todays standards.

quite right, but to me, seeing as how the toys came before the show.... *shrugs* like I said before, either way is ok, as you can have a reason for both, but the original toys were right-side up. I tried to show a scan of the instructions sheets from TFractrack, but they're either down, or just temporarily having problems :(

It looks like the scan from the catalog has the bot wings on the opposite side. If you were to transform the robots to jets the wings would be upsidedown. If you look at the jet modes and were to transform then and rotate the wings they would be like the box art.

    Thanks for the response.

I think I'm just going to do right side up, screw correctness. j/k to all you purists.

I sense a disturbing, yet oddly humorous, argument brewing on the boards: "Right-side up!" Upside down!" I think I'll add my preference to my sig. and see if I can incite a riot.

Hmmm.... uh oh, is this going to require a new acronym along the lines of RIRFIB?

    SDSUD/SDSRU, maybe? :D

I always thought it was cool to see Starscream have them upside down. Seems to say a lot about his backstabbing character. But for the other seekers that doesn't really make as much sense... so... I dunno.

    I'm with you Triformis.

Now we just need some mud slinging for the upside down folks like I see on every friggin political commerical these days.

Upside Down people want to desecrate the American Flag, privitize social security, and cut vetrans benefits

I prefer right side up, I don't have my seekers in alt mode often enough, so right side up in robot mode works for me
