So I haven't seen any reviews on this guy yet since I guess he hasn't hit most stores yet. The Wal-Mart near me has a bunch and I'm sorely tempted. The problem is, the last SW TF I was wooed by was Bobba Fett, and he ended up being a grave disapointment. So, for those of you who have Palpy-Shuttle, what do you think? Good? Bad? More specificaly:

How is the articulation?

Do bits fall off easily?

How is the plastic quality?

Suck, rock, or meh?

The guy who does Shortpacked actually got him and said he sucks. Acording to him, the vehicle mode look nice, but the side wings are floppy. He also said the robot mode is horrible.

I *think* Vangelus has him and loved him.

My memory is weaker than tissue though.

 

It just looks horrible. As much as I love Star Wars and TFs.... this line should have never happend.

 

I think he is ok.. Not the best figure, but far from the worst (luke sucks)

 

From pictures he looks alright. But that's purely based on the odd picture I've seen here and there.

 

if u dont have any version of the ship, its worth it just to get the alt mode IMHO.

 

I saw it and thought it looked cool, and I don't even like Palpatine. I have Luke and the 2 Jedi starfighters and like them enough to try this one. He seems stocky enough and well proportioned. All the others, I have avoided like the plague due to their misproportions.

Overall; he's good, but he coulda been a home run.

 

Thanks for the review LB...I've seen it in stores and was a little tempted by both it and Darth Maul from the last wave but I bought three SWTFs on impule already and regretted it immediately...maybe I'll hold out on it.

 

I have 4 SWTF's and in order of best to worst IMo is:
1. Darth Maul
2. Palpatine (Wish the wings weren't so thin)
3. Clone (Too much kibble)
4. Vader (Too many loose parts)

all he need was detachable waist joint. OH. SNAP.

 

I find the robot modes for this to be "not so good", that's why I skipped this line. The vehicle modes on the other hand are well-made!

 

I thought about Maul but passed. Fett just looks like a skinny but 9 month pregnant woman. Skinny skinny limbs and a HUGE stomach.

I'm still on the fence with Palpatine. The figure would be worth a shot at 9.99, but not 14.99

 

Since Shortpacked really sucks, does that mean Palpy is really cool?

 

So far I'm loving this line. Yeah, some of the molds take some getting used to (HATED the X-Wing), but I am really taken with it.

The only thing I hate about the shuttle is that it shouldn't be Palps. It's too white. Palps should have a dark ship... maybe if they used him for as a Super Star Destroyer or something... a darker color ship would've fit him better. The other complaint is taht the wings fall off REALLY easily.

 

That Palp's pretty cool man. I like putting his sword on his back and making him land & take off in shuttle over and over.

But yeah, not as cool as Blue Thunder.
Wish that chopper would transform
