Ive bought a couple of these guys, but I still dont get what the point or idea is behind them. Are they based of Lego figures or what?

I saw some of these the other day... £9.99. They look cool and all, but I was wondering if they served some purpose before I part with a tenner.

It's the new wave of mainstream wierdness taking a dip in the designer toy scene. For more, see Upper Deck's Marvel SubCast figures.

Exactly. They're like faux-designer toys. I think Marvel's line is generally accepted by the vinyl toy community though, because they're higher quality and more limited. I actually considered picking up the Boba Fett version, but then realized it would look out of place being my only SW figure, and it wouldn't mesh with my designer toy collection.

Not to sound like a prick but why did you buy them? I don't get the point of them either and that's why I don't buy them myself.

I have 4 of them. Vader, Maul, Han, and Chewie. I absolutely love them. They're quirky little figures and my wife thinks that they are cute.

I got them becuase I thought they looked cool. I got the Vader, Darth Maul, Boba Fett and Storm trooper; didnt like Chewbacca nor Han Solo. I just wanted to know where this line is going, why it started in the first place and why the box advertises that it is made of recycled material

As far as where the line is going, I know they are making Luke, Obi Wan, Mace, Jango, Yoda, and I think Palpatine too. Don't quote me on the last one though.

They're just cool looking. I bought a Boba Fett for my wife, and se loves it.

Also, Hasbro are going to do a Marvel Superhero line on these as well. Spider-man like that? Iron-man? I an so in.

i think theyre cool looking. i generally prefer SW non mainstream stuff than the general stuff.

but yah, its definitely acquired taste catered towards a niche market.
